Ooooi.

i do not trick my animals into sex, and they certainly don\'t suffer. In fact they seem to enjoy it very much. ;) (...) No I dont miss my human lovers. they were horrible. they didnt understand me at all. and I really dont miss being hurt, emotionally and physically. I know what it was like and that is why i would never bring harm to my animal lovers.

...

I'm sorry. I have to go feed my cat some snacks and apologise on behalf of humanity.

This is godawful, and i dont even know why i'm posting it, ut i'm feeling sick (which is why i'm at home)and kinda depressed, so if anyone could point me towards some humourous and fluffy fics i'd appreciate it!

That's an... Interesting way to advertise your fic there. Yes. Which reminds me, what do y'all think about recommending one's own stories in fic rec threads? I've always found it a bit odd, but could be just me. Does some form of reciquette even exist?

Psst, [livejournal.com profile] lizbee - the scan of the Susan Sto-Helit picture in SFX for you. (And anyone else who wants, really.)

I really, really love this icon [livejournal.com profile] fondued_jicama made for me. It be shiny.

Is there any Doctor Who version of a comm like [livejournal.com profile] csi_ffwriters?

So, Christmas is a long time away still, but would anyone here be keen on perhaps doing some gift swapping or something when the time comes? Am curious and like to feel ahead.

Yeah - I'm actually looking forward to this version of Hogfather.

Yeah - though this one might very well be a troll, but there are people who genuinely are into beastiality, which... Um, yeah.

You always manage to find the weirdest stuff, don't you? *hugs Puzzle protectively*

Yeah, that reccing thing always surprises me, though I suppose it shouldn't. I'd no more think of reccing my own fic than I would of nominating/voting for myself in awards, yet I know people (in my other fandom) who'd happily do both of the latter and think it perfectly normal and rational. *shrug* Is it a cultural thing, perhaps?

I don't have to look very far.

Could be a cultural thing, or just different attitudes about own work, who knows. People be different and all. I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing it myself.

I missed you and this LJ like crazy.

Recommending your own fic sounds pretty weird, yeah, and really pathetic too, but hey, this is the internetz and weirder things have happened.

You know I'm always up for those gift-swapping thingies. Yay, Christmas!

Heh, it's a long time off still. But good to have something to look forward to, if you ask me.

You'll probably wnat Viking stuff :P

Re fic recs: Unless the poster specfically says its okay to rec yourself, or is requested something that you know you're the only one who's written for it, I almost never rec myself. I have, before, but I feel dumb. Generally I just hope someone else will rec me for them. XD

Date: 2006-08-31 03:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Heh, yes. That does solve the problem. Of course, if it's specifically asking "rec me something you've written", that is another thing.

Just don't send me pro-Bush stuff ;) Well, unless it's stuff I would laugh at.

I can send Vikings and trolls and moose and such.

No, no Bush stuff here. *Shudders*

Though maybe a Kinky Friedman doll or something. If you don't know who he is do a search. Texas politics have always been a little wild. This year is more odd than usual.

I can send Vikings and trolls and moose and such.

Steve would love it. He's all into his Norwegian heritage the last few days. I think it's the heat. ;)

That was... er... disturbing. I know it takes all kind to make the world go 'round and so on, but I don't think there's even any medication invented yet that will help with that kind of pet issue.

Yeah.

So, uhm, self-recc'ing. Nah. Feels to much like putting a neon sign over my head that reads, "Look at ME!" Not that I haven't considered it when someone was asking for something that one of my stories would fit, but I just couldn't do it. To each their own. And no foul to someone who's comfortable doing it. Just my personal hangup.

Gift-swapping is a good thing! Even though I haven't finished your SS fic exhange piece. *blushes muchly* It's not dead. Not really. Just... erm... in deep cryogenic sleep. I blame my trip to St. John. Or at least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Oh my god Susan.

...Oh my god.

*is such, such a fangirl*

I don't object to zoophiles, particularly because I don't exactly believe that it's necessarily rape. If they're not capable of consent, then they're not capable of it, it's not that consent has not been given. Inaccuracies in arguments, godsfuckit. And actually? I take that back. The animals are damn well capable of telling you they don't want it, and they might very well do it with a sharp chomp or well-placed hoof. If you don't force'em, well. Your life. I do think that it's a sign of a severely fucked up psyche if you can only find fulfillment in animals and not humans because that means your interaction skills are non-existent, but again, if you don't hurt the animals I'm not objecting.

And no, you cannot draw analogies with pedophilia, because it's been proven that pedophilia scars the children. The animals? Don't have developed enough psyches to be scarred from sex. Pain, yes, sex, no.

ANIMALS =/= CHILDREN. ARGH.

Besides. I've seen animals getting their rocks off. That tends to destroy any faith in the "they don't want it unless it's for procreation!" argument. Dog masturbating? Brainhurtow.

Date: 2006-08-31 03:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
See, to me the power balance is just too unequal and as you said, they cannot give consent. For me, there has to be consent or I have issues with it.

And given that there's been cases of animals going to the vet with injuries from having sex with humans, some even having to be put down - it can obviously be damaging to some.

Date: 2006-08-31 03:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] evilstorm.livejournal.com
Power balance, ah. I have no issues with power imbalance when neither side suffers from it. Pedophilia, there is always psych damage done, but not necessarily with zoophilia. Yeah, obviously you'll get the idiots who hurt animals and like everyone else I figure we should string'em up in front of the town hall, but. You do actually get those who do their best to make love to the animals in the least traumatic way. I mean...what can you say to that? He treats his dog better than some guys treat their girlfriends! The fuck, I can't complain about that.

*shudders*

But the Susan scan from SFX is very shiny indeed. I'm looking foward to Hogfather and have got high hopes for Marc Warren as Teatime, I do!

As for self-reccing, I never do it, finding it also very odd if someone else does it. Maybe if the recommendation is in response to a very specific request for which not that many fics exist, but usually -- no.

And whether it's Christmas soon or not, gift-swapping sounds like a fun idea.

Ooh at Susan, although she does have a rather amusing expression on.

As far as self-reccing is concerned, echoing everyone else in that I wouldn't do it; it smacks a little too much of being thoroughly desperate for readership.

Heh, yeah. I wonder what she's holding - something of Death's, I'm guessing.

I'm defintely up for the Christmas swap, though I will warn you, Canada Post is just so reliable about getting things to international locations on time, so you'll need to be kind and allow me some leeway for their incompetence.

I've reccomended mine when either the ones I wanted to rec have been recced by others, or when my brain is too mushy to make a list of good recs. I don't so much as see it as tooting my own horn, rather than saying "well, if you like this ship, I've written it, too". But it can come across as tacky, so I don't do it often.

And re, summaries...one of the most common complaints at ffrants are summaries that say things like that, or "I suck at summaries, just read it". All very head desk worthy.

animal sex

Just wondering where you got that from as I remember watching something on TV where this man was having a relationship with a horse or a donkey... And what he said sounded very similar to what you posted.

I'm not overly interested in the matter (personally I think it is awful!) but was just curious if it was the same person making the comment.

I mean, I'm all for free choice etc, but can it be said that the animal is fully consenting? *shivers* It just does nto seem right at all.

My favorite bestiality-related incident (like I have a long list to choose from, right?) was the man in the US last year who Darwin Awarded himself having sex with a horse. He got the horse to penetrate him, not the other way around. Unsurprisingly, he died.

I bet you heard about that, it was all over the news and internet for months.

My first thought on reading it wasn't "Oh no, that poor man!"; it was "Oh no, that poor man's family!" Can you imagine the whole world knowing exactly how he died? They must have worn paper bags on their heads at the funeral.

*stares in bewilderment at the Furry/Zoophile wanktastic wankery* That's... very nasty.

I've always felt uncomfortable reccing my fics anywhere in any way. I even feel shy (though very grateful and thankful) when someone else recs them anywhere, but then I'm a nervous wreck every time I post a chapter, worrying that it's crap and X bit is weak or Y characterisation is off, or whatever. Perfectionist and never happy with what I do - a double-edged sword a lot of the time.
