So here I am, stuck at work till five, with basically nothing to do until 15.30. Eight hours at work to do an hour and a half of actual work. Huh. But ah well, that's how they wanted it and that's what they pay for. I could write, but I'm feeling blah about it. Think I've written too much at work of late and thus feel somewhat tired of it. What I want to do is go home and play Baldur's Gate II some more. I've downloaded the Kivan mod and am having fun with it and the general slaughter of all enemies. Huzzah!

Thus, this may be a long, rambling, disjointed post. Sorry.

Moose helps to catch thieves, dies in the process

Poor crime-fighting moose. Sniff.

So, yesterday was the five year on from infamous 9/11, and I really had nothing much to say. There comes a point, I feel, where silence in respect for the dead is really all that is needed for a while. (As time passes, it might be good to consider again, as sometimes do with historical events.) Because so much have been said and so much have been tried to be exploit with 9/11 the mere word just makes me sigh. Speeches like this do nothing to help. Honour the dead, remember the many who have died forgotten in other acts of human cruelty that were no less cruel but a whole less spectacular and live your life as kindly as you can seem to me as good a tribute as any other.

Veronica Mars fandom wanks

As one can see, inane ship names are not restricted to just one fandom. Also, I was very happy to spot the thread on the second page with people who didn't actually like the show. Here I thought I was all alone. Everyone told me I would love it and then I watched it and very much didn't. I felt all heathen and wrong. (I'm trying very hard with Battlestar Galactica so far, but it's not quite gripping me. Eh well, I was told season one is a bit shite. On the other hand, I think we can safely say Grey's Anatomy is addicting me a bit. Bailey is made of win. Might stay away from fandom, though. CSI and Who fandom makes me go bonkers enough as it is.)

People on my flist wanks

Naughty people.

Right, so bored at work. Anyone want to comment-chat a bit? Pick your topic. I am that bored.

That poor moose. Well...at least he died as a hero right?

I'm pretty sure the moose would've prefered to live as a coward rather than die as a hero. But beats becoming moose steak, I suppose.

I like moose steak. Mmm.

Where is everyone?

Eight hours at work to do an hour and a half of actual work. Huh.

Be glad you are only doing that for today. I think I own the very existence of my LJ to that.

Quisling

From what I can see it would be much better if he was just a writer instead of a politician from the beginning?

I thought Bush's speech was utterly inappropriate, and he must completely deluded if he actually believes what he was saying.

"The president talked of "a struggle for civilisation" and said the safety of the nation depended on the outcome of "the battle in the streets of Baghdad"."

Because, y'know, 47,000 dead Iraqi civilians is civilised. Or maybe he doesn't worry about creating more terrorists with his foreign policy because he plans on killing everyone who isn't 'on his side'?

On a lighter note, Grey's Anatomy is all kinds of goodness, isn't it? I ♥ Cristina.

What does Moose taste like? And on that note, did you ever try Kangaroo when you were here in Australia? Kangaroo is *delicious* with plum sauce.

(Also having little to do now, myself...) So... does Norway tend to have spectacular autumn foliage? If so, when does it usually peak?

Everyone is probably doing sensible things or writing porn.

Be glad you are only doing that for today. I think I own the very existence of my LJ to that.

Ouch. I Think I'd go a little insane. How do you remain sane and don't randomly mug your boss for work?

Quisling - he wasn't actually that brilliant a writer as he saw himself, but it still might've brought him less disappointments than what he did end up doing. It did not go well for Quisling at all, certainly.

I missed you. Also, I was kind of worried about you. I'm still an overworrier. Can't help it.

Anyway, you're back and you bring me...VM wank!*loves you*
So, KB doesn't like Logan/Veronica ( I simply refuse to call it LoVe. That's too horrid!Ship names, hurgh.). Too bad, but I'm not tearing my hair out. Not yet.
As usual, shipping is not the main reason why I watch a TV show. The snark, witty dialogue and good mystery is what keeps me going in the VM fandom. (And that hottie known as Jason Dohring. :P)

On to more serious topics.
I agree with you on the 9/11 issue. It's probably because I'm European, but I wish that more people had the guts to speak about the remember the many who have died forgotten in other acts of human cruelty that were no less cruel but a whole less spectacular and live aspect of it all, as you did.

I don't get this 'Iraq as a threat to the nation!!!!!1' thing at all. I mean seriously, how can you believe that, if you know much about Iraq at all? It's more dangerous now than it was back when it got invaded, so good going there. But 'hating US' is not automatically 'threat to US AND THE WORLD', OMG.

Cristina is awesome and Burke is hot.

It gets fairly nice, yes. End of September, October is usually when it's at the finest. Depends a bit on temprature and such. I could maybe take some pictures when the time comes, if you're really keen?

Hmmm. Well, it tastes a bit like deer, if you've ever had that. If you know how to make it, moose meat is actually very tasty indeed. But it can easily become a bit... leather-y, if you don't know quite how to prepare it.

And yes, I had kangaroo. In a resturant in Alice Springs with my visiting mother, watching Aussie rules.

Because I don't like the nature of my work (or of my boss) alltogether. Yeah, I know I know I hope I'll change it soon for something better.
Maybe I'm not so sane after all...

Pictures would be lovely, if it's not too much trouble. :) Hopefully this year's autumn won't be one of those "be cold and rainy all day so the leaves only turn sort of yellow and get knocked off before they turn orange or red" years so I can exercise my camera, as well.

What you worrying for?

LoVe is right up there with Drose and Grillows, if you ask me. Ugh. Perhaps even more so, as even I have gathered that pairing is not exactly high on the TWUWUB.

See, I watched and Dohring did nada for me. I like the biker... what's his name... black, hates on Logan? He was okay.

European might be a part of it - but I think everyone has a tendency to remember the spectacular more. Just how it is. Which is why the tsunami in Asia got a lot more aid than the earthquake in Pakistan, even though in terms of suffering, the latter might've been worse. But of course here, we have a different perspective on 9/11. Terrorism has been around Europe a while, after all.

Not too much. I have a digital camera. Just remind me, as I have a horrid memory.

We had one autumn that was very warm and summery, and within week, temprature dropped twenty degrees and it snowed. The leaves were still green, so was quite odd.

Weird weather times, these.

I don't know. I guess I have to much time on my hands and fervid imagination.

Oh yes, definitely not a TWUWUB pairing. Highly dysfunctional. Hot, though, and with lots of the 'train wreck' charm, in my opinion.

To each their own. I like Weevil too. Actually Weevil/Logan slashiness is my guilty pleasure in this fandom. :)

Check out [livejournal.com profile] briasoleil's journal, if you haven't already. She has personal reasons to feel the way she does, but I found her poin of view very interesting too.
I actually read all the 9/11 posts on my flist, but rarely commented. Different perspectives fascinate me.

We had a week one April or May where there was a major Nor'easter that dumped about a foot and a half of snow on us and had the temperatures at 20 degrees all week, and then the next day, it was suddenly 70-75 degrees (F) and sunny. That made trying to figure out what to wear that week interesting...

Did you hear about the spoof video done by BBC London's News team for a colleague's leaving doo?

The video is available from here.

It was leaked by an insider pissed off at taxpayers money being used to do it.

Heh. Well, for the future, me not writing posts for a few days is nothing at all to get alarmed over. Now a month, then you might start ;)

Ah, that was his name. Weevil/Logan slash, huh? Is there a lot of bike fun?

I didn't read any 9/11 posts on purpose, because it was getting to the point where I really had stopped caring, and that's a bad point to get to. Because I do care, should care, whenever some dies by cruelty of humans. Might go back and read some after I've lost the emotional fatigue over it.
