I've been a bit incommunicado for a few days. Sorry. Life, work, blah. Did I miss anything exciting? LJ being down and fandom drama, probably. INFORM ME DAMMIT Please fulfill my need to feel informed.

Today is final round of football in Norway. I'm so a nervous wreck on behalf of my teams. *jitters* Please not be breaking my hearts by getting kicked down a division. (Only bad luck will lead to it, but luck is so fickle.)

So, what's up with you all and what did I miss?

ETA: My beloved Tromsdalen looks safe. Now it's only beloved Tromsø left to worry about.

ETA2: Tromsø is safe. Both my teams make it. Huzzah!

Well, Supernatural fandom went into hatey meltdown when the existance of Jo (some girl introduced to STEAL DEAN'S HEART AND SOUL WITH HER FEMININE WILES) was confirmed in the latest episode. Sides were drawn. Angry emails were sent. Requests for rationality and porn were made.

Well, half of fandom says that Sam/Dean is Pure and True and NO ONE gets in the way of that, and the other half calls Mary-Sue (which I really don't think she is, but each to their own).

Top-notch batshittery can be found in the TWOP thread. My favorite post: Dean and Jo are incompatable because the Chinese Zodiac tells me so!

My view? No skinny chick can get in the way of the brotherly love, so why get in a flap?

And yes, you are right. The Dark Crystal spooked the living crap out of me when I was little. I think it was the bit at the end where the good and the bad merge together... from my kid brain POV, they all died (at least in terms of individual identity), and it was terrifying.

I remember a kids cartoon about some animal-people-whatever stuck in a castle where the Lord of it was turning animals and people into stone and they had to hide to avoid sharing the fate. It was traumatizing.

I peeled a lot of onions at work tonight. And now my hands smell.

I too got pissed off at LJ not working. But I thought it was all my computer's fault, and it was chucking a great big wobbly. So greatly pleased that it was a LJ-related problem. Strangely enough.

Oh! I forgot to tell you - I got your postcard. Very pretty, and nice to get something in the old box that's not uni bills, exam results, credit card companies telling me I really need to get this fantastic new card, mail from the sherrif's office telling me i have jury duty, etc etc. (most of which Ia ctually have recieved. including the jury duty thing.)

They made it. They'll play in the elite league next year too. Huzzah!

But man, it was very tight and exciting and my poor, poor nerves... Molde and Ham-Kam got sent down, Odd ended up on the qualifying spot on goal difference. So they'll face Bryne (third in first division) to decide who gets to play the elite series next year. I don't really care about either, so... Yay.

What is up with me? Real life interfering with online life, as per usual. *grumbles*

But I did see a fantastic adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet" just last night. Really really well-done, beautifully staged and acted.

I've seen the show before, listened to it, read it, studied it in Literature classes at school. But never really appreciated it until now.

It's set in a repressive all-boys prep school, and what happens is that four boys find a copy of the play (which is forbidden) in an attic, and sneak up there after lights out and act it out. Just wonderful.

So anyway, there's your "exciting" update from me. I too have been absent from LJ so if there was any drama, I missed it. Woe.
