Winter woes and other notes
Dec. 6th, 2006 05:08 pmGot your gifts,
gabesaunt,
mademoisellenon and
wintergreen126. Thank you! I haven't opened them all yet, as I am deciding whether or not to dare put them under the tree. No one's given me anything particulary naughty, right?
So I wandered off for a few days, not really enough time for anyone to miss me, but I should be back now, anyway. Really, I'm feeling a bit down and tired and vaguely depressed and can't quite pinpoint the reason why, though this is a good contender. It's dark, it's gloomy, and we have no snow. In fact, Norway haven't had such a lack of snow since the 1930s. The thing is, the snow does help a bit - for one thing, it reflects the sunlight and makes it feel a bit lighter. Right now, it's fucking depressing. I want snow. Woe. (They reported on the news parts of Texas had snowfall. WTF? Who stole our snow and dumped it on Texas?)
Spent the weekend pretty much hibernating, too. Crawled up on the couch and watched sports and Rome on DVD, which was quite watchable. Felt a very strong urge to just go to Italy for the winter and eat grapes. (Also, I'd totally do Rome's Cæsar. I'm just saying.) Shall try to summon the energy to be more sociable, though. And actually do some of the stuff I'm meant to do.Fanfic writing and converting and uploading, wheee
Christmas Love Meme, Anon Style - so you can cheer me up there, if you want.
Hogfather looks bloody good. Want.
saxihighlandck tagged me for Ten Fictional Characters I Would Shag (in no particular order other than as they came to mind - and I only did one per fiction, even though they might have more than one shaggable person)
The Doctor (Doctor Who. Hey, at the very least it would be interesting.)
Warrick (CSI)
Burke (Grey's Anatomy)
Cæsar (Rome)
Elrond (Lord of the Rings)
Vetinari (Discworld)
Peter Carlisle (Blackpool)
Tim (The Office)
Mark Darcy (Bridget Jones's Diary)
Tony (Wire in the Blood)
Torchwood wank - well, at least it's following in the tradition of its wank-mummy.
So, did I miss anything while being dormant in my lair? What's happening in yours?

Date: 2006-12-07 02:51 am (UTC)I might dare stick it under the tree, then. Unless it's horridly geeky instead. Not sure I want to share my geekness with the family.

Date: 2006-12-06 07:20 pm (UTC)I've been wondering what's happened to winter as well. Granted, I don't think it's even within the realm of possibility for it to snow here (that'd be awesome), but a little rain would be nice. Humidity has been below 10% for a week or two, and my cracking, dry skin just can't take it anymore! Seriously, like two points on my knuckles started bleeding the other day. Not nice.

Hee. There's always at least one person out there sharing one's kink, I tell you.
