Well, I had an interesting day...
Oct. 9th, 2003 01:09 amWent and saw Pirates of the Caribbean again. Fittingly, the two trailers before it were Return of the King (ooooh) and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Heh. Mmm, Pirates. Also met a Maori living here in Norway. I'm having dinner with him tomorrow. He also gave me a Maori lucky charm. Then I found a LotR backpack on sale and unable to resist, I bought it (well, I needed a new backpack anyway). Got home to see bro was home as well to print out a paper (he lives at a student house these days) and we got into our usual deep philosophical discussions. He's doing it at Uni and really loving it. He's having especially fun with arguments against the existence of God, apperantly. Not really surprising, that. I remember once, when he was a wee boy of eight or nine and me and him went with dad to this Christian TV show (dad was a guest). We got placed next to a Christian man, who started asking us about faith and bro of course stated his disbelief.
Man: But Jesus is your best friend
Bro: No, Kim is my best friend
Snigger. I can safely say my brother has continued to live in that mindset. My little heathen family... Some people from 'Jesus Liberation Army' tried to rope me in on the street today. Gah. I was tempted to start arguing for Asatru, but I was in a hurry. How hard is it to understand that if I wanted to join their faith, *I* would make the iniative? Nagging with me tends to work against its purpose. But oh well.
Various stuff:
Arnold made governor of California. Hoo boy. I suppose we'll see soon enough how that'll go.
Oh, and this is an interesting article on the progress in Iraq so far.
OFUM now has 1987 reviews. Think I'll reach 2000?
People here in Norway have started lining for the ticket sale for RotK opening night. The sale opens the 27th. I guess some people really want good seats... But I must admit, Colesseum (where it is) is a great cinema. Apparently, that cinema had the highest number of LotR audience (in a single cinema, I assume). To line or not to line...
