Dear (apparently) half of Norwegian males,

WTF ARE YOU ON ABOUT YOU EFFING GNATS?!

I've already said my piece on blame and rape here, but because it cannot be said enough times: IT IS NOT THE WOMAN'S FAULT SHE GOT RAPED. EVER. Write it in Caps Lock across your brains until it sinks in, dammit, because every time you think it or act like it, you're doing survivors of rape everywhere injustice and they don't deserve even more shit.

The sad part is that I don't think Norway is abnormal in this regard. And I don't think it's just males - hell, I know it's not just males. We need to seriously do something about attitutes to women's sexuality in general and rape in particulary. I've always believed that, but of course now it's taken on a more personal importance.

I award this MASSIVE FAIL.

Gah, I need cheering up. With this, lousy weather, the usual monthly fun of pain and fandom blah, I'm feeling like an Emo Viking with the horns pointing down. :(

OMG, so much RAGE! Norway, how can you disappoint me so? That really is terrifying to hear--tempting to think it's not like that here, cos it makes me afraid to leave my house. Ever. But yeah, I know better.

But why is the WoW down? :( I guess it's cos they were gonna do a very large patch. (Which includes better pet healing, yay!) I was hoping to get home and kill things, that always cheers me up. Sniff.

Weather and mood might be better tomorrow, I suspect. Maybe I shall just go to bed early.

It would be forgivable if it were the patch (better fishing, and some JWC perks! Oh, and I believe there's a new instance?). However, not all the servers are down--I have played my BElf a bit on Sha'tar. And there's been no update download prompting, so...

It seems more like an unexpected fuckup, since I checked this morning and the forum said they were only going to do a 3-hour maintenance of selected realms, while the others were just rolling shutdowns. 3 hour maintenance has taken 10 hours so far. :( They couldn't at least leave me BB so I could play my rogue? BLAH.

LOL, same. Did you get there? I did today--very confusing. When the server wouldn't come back, I then made a tauren so I could have a look at Thunder Bluff, too.

I think we need a character on every server in case of happenings like this, don't you? Must have the WoW fix! I'm annoyed cos I checked to see the downtime, cos if it was gonna be a long one I could do something more productive with my time. But they said 3 hours! So I've been sitting here and checking every ten minutes since! Wasted day, boo. All the things I could have got done if I had known. *sigh*

Oh, that makes me sick. Really, really sick and sad for all of the girls and women who have to be afraid because of men who think like that. I thought your post on rape was courageous and beautifully written, and it all needs to be said so much and so often that I kind of wish I could tattoo some of it on the bodies of the idiots who think like this.

The comment above me is so true (well, I hope it's still above mine by the time I finish typing this... ) - if we applied this logic in other areas, people would be horrified. Why is it okay when it comes to women? I always somehow forget that people think like this, because I've surrounded myself with men and women who aren't mysogynist morons.
