A Little Plea

Dear friends and strangers and whoever might read this livejournal,

I have a request to ask. Not for me personally, but for Thalia. Some of you might know her, some of you may not. But I think you'll agree even if you don't know her that this is outrageous.

Thalia is 14 years old and has recently hinted that she's thinking a bit about her sexuality and whether or not she might be bi-sexual. Not unusual at that age in any sense, I'd say, whatever comes of it. However, one of her friends, "Eliana" discovered that Thalia was thinking about this and started harassing her in her LJ. She called her names I shan't repeat here, threatened to expose it to the school and brought in two other friends to help in as well. And now they're leaving threatning messages on Thalia's cell phone.

And so I ask you, please support Thalia. Maybe just a little e-mail to tell her you don't know her, but still see she does not deserve this. If you have great ideas about how to deal with this, offer them up. If you can think of something to cheer Thalia up, or just let her know these people are asses... Just something. It would mean a great deal to me, so I'm asking. Please.

I did email her. It really makes me sick that someone who she says used to be her friend would be so mindless and cold.
Sometimes people really suck.

How could anyone ever do that kind of thing? Eliana is just a prejudiced bitch. Poor Thaila. I emailed her, even though she has no idea who I am... plus I don't even have an lj account... but oh well.

It makes me so sad that there are people in the world who think it's ok to do that. Sad. And SICK.

1. Are there any gay/lesbian organizations near where Thalia lives? Particularly student ones? They might have advice to give.

2. Might the parents of these ugly little sluts be informed, or do they have the type of attitude that would make the situation worse?

3. I believe leaving harassing messages via the phone is a criminal offense in many places. Thalia should check with the phone company about this. Be warned: if they take it at all seriously, they'll probably want to place a tap of some sort on her phone, although I can't imagine that's any worse than the current situation. (Postscript: I see several others suggested this in her LJ. It's still good advice; it often cools such bitches down to discover that they aren't immune from serious consequences such as prison.)

4. Do the offenders also have LJ's or the like where decent folk can inform them exactly what we think of them and their behavior?
