We're having floods.

Drammen? Yeah, that's the city 15 minutes away from me. And last night we got so much rain I felt like some aquatic Camster at the end of it.

My place shouldn't be in any danger, but some of the roads might get cut off and we might have some mudslides. Eeek. Yesterday, we suddenly had a not-so-little lake downhill - the day before, it had been dry fields.

Some pictures from the flooding here.

Eh, yeah. Fingers crossed for damages not being too bad.

*shakes fist at weathergods*

Eek. I hope everything is alright... Norway hasn't had a drought recently, has it? Since Australia got below-average rainfall for five years followed by floods and a storm big enough to beach a cargo ship, the weathergods can't be without a sense of irony.

At least the fish will be happy. Do happy fish make better-tasting lutefisk?

Gippsland being under water amused me because of the rapid change from drought to flood (even though we are still in a drought).

My theory is that the Earth's going through menopause. Droughts are hot flushes, floods are the crying fits, and Melbourne's weather is the mood swings. :D

I think I'll adopt that theory too.

We are too. But it's winter here, so I suppose that's sort of normal.

good to hear that you're place is okay, but hopefully all that water will recede soon...how long has it been raining?

stay dry and have a good weekend.

I'm sympathetic, believe me. But it could always be worse -- look at New Orleans.

Good luck and I hope that you stay safe and the damage stays minimal.

Totally different part of the world, but we've been getting lots of flooding around here as well. Hope it doesn't get any worse for you-- stay safe.

I'll shake my fist at the weathergods with you. However, for a different reason. It was 43c here yesterday. We never get temps that high!

I hope things settle down in your area and that you're okay.

I feel your pain. Our floods have only just subsided, but even more rain is on the way. *tosses a lifesaver*

I know, and it's a big flood too, isn't it? There are usually some floods running over in the east, but this year it's extreme! I've seen it on the news and it looks really bad.

*keeps fingers crossed for you*

I'll shake my fist at the weathergods too, but in my case it's because we're in the middle of a drought over here. :-/

Oh my.
Mind you, southern Sweden is about the same... although, where I am at, we haven't even smelled rain 'til last night.

Oh, by the way, I signed up at Facebook, saw you were a member and added you to my f-list. (Janna B, just in case you wondered.) Add me if you like. ^_^
