CamDad: Blah blah not work.
misscam: So you have half a year paid leave off work? [Slight envy might be detectable.]
CamDad: Yes.
misscam: Oh, okay. Are you writing another book?
CamDad: No. I'm studying public transportation.
misscam: Blah blah NSB sucks mooseballs blah blah appaling state of trains, trams and subway whine whine blah blah Norway's wealth FIX IT YOU FILTHY RICH STATE [Slight sense of peeved off might be detected.]
CamDad: That's what I'm going to do.
misscam: You think you can fix it?
CamDad: Yes.
misscam: ...
My father, ladies and gentlemen. If you've ever thought yours truly can be a bit arrogant, you need look no further than genes. (It should also be mentioned dad is also taking some of this time off to learn to cook good, which amuses CamMum.)
In fandom notes:
- Is it quite sad that my first reaction to [casting rumor for Doctor Who posted in tabloid] wasn't any thought about how it might affect the show and whether or not I would enjoy it, but rather "oh bollocks fandom will go bananas if that happens"?
- Speaking of which, it's hard to write fanfic for a fandom when all you feel is a slight weariness. I want some love back.
- Feeling a bit interested in CSI again. Hmm. Worrisome.
- Also in CSI: Fans buy a flyover. [Contains speculation on CSI character's future, so... Sorta spoilery?] If there isn't some wank over this, I will be surprised.
In life notes:
- Is there someone out there I could possibly bribe with some paid time to make me some custom icons and a "Public Access" LJ banner?
-
lotus79 has gotten me addicted to playing scrabble on Facebook. So far I'm getting a whipping, but enjoying it. I am leading on Rob, but who knows how long that will last...
- The King opened Parliament here in Norway this week and continued his tradition of getting it wrong at the end. He's supposed to bless the "gjerning" (deed, work) of Parliament but managed to bless it "gjæring" (yeasting) instead. Last year he blessed its "hjerne" (brain). So last year Parliament had a brain, this year we're in for yeasting. Good to know.
- FAIL. Also, why is not John Howard resigned already? I mean, I remember it being talked about when I lived in Australia, and that's many years ago now. Is he a zombie and will rule Australia until his arms fall off?
Finally, a meme - what's the one thing you feel most embarrassed over in a fandom of yours right now?
CamDad: Yes.

[casting rumor for Doctor Who posted in tabloid]
I missed something. Point me in the right direction, please?
The other night a friend of mine was moaning about her bf neglecting her because of his new WoW addiction. She was like "I don't care if his lvl70 hunter is so cool and that bloody raid the other night was awesome!I want my bf back!!!"" I learnt some Italian Wowspak, lol and thought of you and Saz.
Your King is cracktastic. Is there any other misspelling he can use next year?

Date: 2007-10-04 06:46 am (UTC)Well, I gotta say my expectations aren't that high, heh. Granted, my father is capable and accomplished, but the issue of public transportation has been tried to be fixed for years. But I shall probably rib him a bit. Ya.
That rumor.
Haha. See, but then she should play WoW too ;) My brother plays WoW with his gf (heck, he met his gf through WoW) and then one can have glorious raids together. So there.
Hmm. Well, I suppose there's "gærning" (lunatic). Or maybe "terning" (dice). I guess we'll see next year, won't we?
He also actually skipped a page of his speech. Whoopsie there.

Although I'd also put good money on the zombie theory!!

Date: 2007-10-03 01:36 pm (UTC)And of course the way some people just flat out behave in fandom, no mater the fandom, but the anonymity the internet provides gives some people a bit too much ego for me.
If your dad figures out public transportation, think he could give Houston a shot. We have a laughable system right now, and their solution to less light rail is more toll roads.

Date: 2007-10-04 07:02 am (UTC)Yeah, anonymity does give people an opportunity to do stuff they wouldn't face to face - you feel less restrained by common courtsey since the ability to cencor is less, maybe.
Because what we need right now is more polllution. Yes, brilliant thinking.

Date: 2007-10-04 07:28 am (UTC)Yeah, not surprised you do. I do think what character or shipping bias people have here affect how they view it slightly, though I know some GSR fans are rolling their eyes as well. But oh well, we'll see how it goes, I guess...
