misscam: (WTF)

Anything you'd like to see a picture of in my life (or in World of Warcraft, hah) or would like to hear me talk about/say/read in a phonepost? Speak now or for a long time hold your breath.

Yes, I'll be doing a picspam of some kind and a phonepost in a few days.

Meanwhile, a link [livejournal.com profile] falena84 so kindly passed on to me - a report on a tour of the (hardcore) Creationism Museum. The pictures are a hoot - and also kinda brain scarring. Hardcore creationists make me hurt and laugh at the same time. It's rather like being on some sort of crack, I'm just not sure if it's the good or bad kind. It's the kind that make sensible Christians headdesk, I have no doubt.

I need to see this place so I can laugh and laugh and laugh and boggle. Because seriously, no one in Norway would believe that place is real and not some really clever joke, probably started by Team Antonsen. It's just... WHAT LOL WTF.

I so need to see this place. It would be tourism of WTFery.

So, who'd want to come with?

I'd come with. Seems like a good time, and then there could be margaritas at the end!!!

There would have to be. There's only so much WTF you can take without alcohol.

Amen to that, sister.

WTF is Skalzi doing with my gramma's couch pattern as his background?

Sign me up for the field trip!

Creationism Museum?

Isn't that the people that claim humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time-period, despite the fact that humans split from apes about 5 million years ago and the dinosaurs kind of died out about 65 million years ago.

Considering the scientific numbers it is quite mind-boggling.

Date: 2007-11-15 09:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
That's them. According to their museum, the Jurrassic period was at the time of the Pharaohs.

Considering all science and logic that is going against that, it's rather mindbogglingly WTF.

From: [identity profile] silvery-lass.livejournal.com
That is just fucked up. The first pharaoh of Egypt started his rule in 3150 BC.

I can't believe people believe them? I mean if you apply even a little bit of logic you can unravel everything.

It's enough to make me headdesk, yes. I'd like to see it myself, so I can boggle at the weird people in my faith.

It's like a uniter of religion, that. Or of humanity in general, actually.

Pics: Your bike?

Voicepost: you should say a few sentences in Norwegian. Because it's too singsong-y and pretty not to. And maybe read out a passage from a fic of yours? You could do all the voices, like and adult doing a kiddies' story, it'd be cool. :P

The Museum: now that I've had the chance to take a proper look at the pics (I was in class when I first came across it), I can confirm that kind of crack does indeed make me want to headdesk.
This being said, I'd go almost anywhere with you. You're good company.

My bike's put away for the winter, but I'll see what I can do.

I'd do very bad voices, but I'll see what I can do. :P

Heh. 'Cam and Elisa does the US of A', one day maybe ;)

Oh right. Didn't think of that. So, something more seasonal...your shovel? Lol. I assume that'll have to come out soon.

Me to the people of Norway: these nuts are for real. Unfortunately.

I wouldn't want to come with. I'd hit the damn ceiling, and probably get arrested for trying to torch the place. I would like to take you to the George C. Page Museum here, though. :-)

Heh, well, it's easier to just laugh at them when you don't have to live with them, I guess. And I know they'll never get any credibility here, which helps.

It cost $27million?!!?

Think how many people could have access to clean water for that. Or life-saving drugs.

I'd like to see pics of Professional!MissCam. ^_^

On the creationism museum... why are there Dinosaurs? I didn't think Creationists believed in Dinos. Or maybe I'm confusing that with some other crazyness... =/

Me at work or getting ready for work or something like that?

They believe in dinosaurs. They just don't believe they lived millions of years ago. Because the Earth is 6000 years old according to them.

Pictures of Cam at work, out hunting thrilling news, or sleeping at the desk, whatever it is that you do. =)

Ah, yes, the 6000-years club. I remember now.

These ones apparently do. I have heard an alternative line of reasoning wherein dinosaur fossils were created by the Devil to shake people's faith. No lie.

But... but, that would mean a god with HUMOUR! How can that be? *snerk*

From: [identity profile] karma-kalisutah.livejournal.com
Not really. There's nothing funny about the Devil stealing souls by forging paleontological evidence.

...

Well, okay, maybe from our perspective there is. But God's not laughing.

Don't do it, Cam! You'll be giving them money to use in their quest to take over the world.

Yes, but I am afraid my desire to see the WTFery outweighs my annoyance at giving them money. Pathetic, I know.

I actually live near the museum unfortunately. Haven't seen it, but my mom told me the stuff about Dinosaurs and humans together there, and I was just like what???

Yes, apparently dinosaurs used to be vegans in the garden of Eden until Adam ate the apple and made them meanies. Or something.

It sounds like the Museum of *headdesk*. Hopefully there will be lots of flat surfaces by each exhibition to allow you to *headdesk* in style.
