As requested here, the topics I was asked to blog on.

My favourite underwear, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] camillabloom:
Not thongs. I do however own a large quanity of mostly-cotton underwear starring Miss Piggy, Hello Kitty, Eeyore, dragons, cats and the occasional flower. The day I get the Gummy Bears I will feel completed as a human being. So there.

Thoughts on foods, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] kittycatness:
I want to know your thoughts on [insert ethnic food of your choice] as compared to [insert different ethnic food of your choice].
Italian versus Thai. Two giants. One I'll have for dinner, one I'll serve for friends. Both have been watered down in international versions. Who will rule supreme? Jury is still out, but I will give it to Thai if Italy elects Berlusconi once more, because then pasta quite clearly contains batshit.

What I look like, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] qwercus:
Photobucket

Which I'd go gay for and who I'd enter a nunnery to avoid being touched by, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] denorios:

(Shut up, she's AWESOME.)

(FLEE IT FLEEEE FLEEEEE.)

About him, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] 667:
You. You you you you. You you. You you you you oh yeah you! You.

What it would take for me to wank, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] mad_troll:
Insulting Norway. Using rape in some totally unrealistic and insulting manner in fanfic. Declaring rape victims had it coming. Faking illness or death for sympathy. Phelps. And probably lots more, if I am in a cranky mood already...

What I would give everyone in the world if they already had what they needed, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] stringertheory:
Fifteen minutes with someone they never got to say goodbye to. Why? Because all too often what haunts us in old age isn't what we said, but what we didn't.

What movie I am looking the most forward to, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] siraj:
Prince Caspian. Not because I think it will be utterly brilliant, but because Narnia will always mean to be winter evening in Norway, dark sky and silver-lined snow outside, me and a cup of cocoa inside, and my mind in a book. I can't have that innocence and boundless imagination back. But I can have the memory of it, and Narnia brings it so clearly back.

Where I'd move to if leaving Norway and why, as asked by [livejournal.com profile] phdelicious:
It would be between Australia and Britain. Both are English speaking countries, and I do know English. Both ahve a culture I feel comfortable with. Britain is closer, Australia has more fabulous weather. But now that Australia has kicked John Howard, I think it would win. Provided I don't have to live next door to Pauline Hanson and The Chaser's War on Everything is renewed.

Phew. Anymore requests, then?

Oh Narnia. The way you feel about Narnia is exactly the same as me. Narnia is winter evenings and being curled up on the sofa in my dressing gown; it's being tucked up in bed and listening to my dad read to me; it's Turkish Delight from Aslan under the Christmas tree; it's every so often knocking on the back of the wardrobe, just to be sure. Narnia is totally bound up in my childhood, and the movies bring that back to me!

Oooh, Turkish Delight. I didn't dare eat them for such a long time for fear they'd ruin this magic fantasy of what they'd taste like.

And yeah, totally bound up in my childhood. I think Narnia and Astrid Lindgren are my strongest childhood triggers of all (didn't read Tolkien until my teens) and when Astrid Lindgren died I seriously bawled. It was like a little childhood died with her.

Hee! At least you don't have to live in the same town as Joel & his HUGE!CHURCH.

It used to be The Summit/Compaq Center, where the Houston Rockets played.

Eeeek.

I was blissfully unaware of his existence until recently, when I was unfortunate enough to catch a 60 Minutes piece on him. Just his grin freaked me majorly out. Then I heard his 'preaching'. Um, yeah.

I guess telling people what they want to hear is a very lucrative business.

I can not STAND him. He is a motivational speaker, who uses the bible to acquire tax free donations. He and his wife bother me. We were channel surfing one day & they were on and she was talking about shopping at The Galleria. ZOMG so inappropriate.

Corporate Churches bother me in the worst way. In that skin crawling, wanting to make you shake the people who go there way.

And the worst part, my cousine thinks they are just fabulous. She even gets their daily newsletter. And forwards it to me from time to time, even though she knows my feelings on them.

I get the motivational aspect of him. He reminds me of a salesman, really, but I guess what he's selling ain't cars. Not sure how to formulate what drives me so nutes, actually, given the brief exposure. There was just something.

The more I hear the more initial impression is confirmed, though.

And ugh, how do you not yell at her?

"Corporate Churches bother me in the worst way. In that skin crawling, wanting to make you shake the people who go there way."

Ugh, me too. I mean, church is supposed to be fellowship, right? With a church that size, I get about as much fellowship as I think I probably do simply by being aware of the rest of the Christian community. Which is some, but really not much.

Then again, normal churches are too big for me. Give me ten people who will sit down and chat with me about it all, and that's perfect. ;)

Joel Osteen scares me.

Have you snooped IMDB lately about "Prince Caspian"?
It looks like it's going to be fun.

I saw a trailer recently, but mostly I've decided to let myself watch it without knowing too much. I'll just get all annoyed in advance if I hear about changes - when I watch it, I'll know better if it works or not.

His grin alone would make me run for the hills, seriously.

The thing with book-to-film adaptations is that you can't really combine the two. You've got to take them as two separate pieces. (Films based on novels are kind of like fanfic. Only for the eyes.)
But Ben Barnes is gorgeous.

He's very... tan.
And is reminiscent of Martin Short. And Martin Short, though talented, is quite creepy.

Took the child to the movies Saturday night and there was a trailer for Prince Caspian...while I wasn't interested in seeing the first movie, I want to see this one.

I always felt more attached to the first one - the winter imagery just struck a very familiar cord with me, as did the coming of spring. And I always preferred Voyage of the Dawn Treader over Prince Caspian with the books. But the movie might very well be excellent still - I'm sure the fighting will be more spectacular in the movies than the books could manage.

Hmm..somehow I cannot form an image of you flailing around teh wank, even for those sins affronts. OFUM has burned my brain that way. :D

Oh, regarding Le Berlu's return? You can (half)bet on that: I'm working in a call-center, doing interviews. The ones who say they're going to vote for him for sure are also the ones most certain they're going to vote.
I'm (not)looking forward to more than 35% abstention. :(

I'm sorry, I don't know Cam that well, but I had the misfortune of catching this message and I really had to say something.

To the poster: You are frankly disgusting. This is quite possibly the worst sentence (and in Netspeak, no less), that I have ever seen in my entire life.

You clearly have no idea how traumatic rape is. I hardly have an idea, but a while back I had to deal with being sexually harassed by a person I had known and trusted for years. Nothing really terrible happened, but even what did happen could've destroyed me. It probably would've, too, but thankfully everyone around me was wonderfully kind and supportive and wouldn't let that happen. I've never had to see that person again.
I can't even imagine what would've happened to me, had it been more than what it was, let alone were it to happen again. I can't possibly imagine what Cam has had to go through, and consequently I am positive that you have no idea, given the comment that you just made.

I want you to know that your comment deeply upset me. I am shaking right now, I am that angry. What you just said clearly communicates your complete lack of respect, not just for Cam, but for women everywhere.

Please never make comments like this again.

It's a stupid troll, made this kind of remark before. Some people are just shit like that, I guess.

Thanks for the supportive remarks, though, and sorry you had to go through what you did :(

I'm so sorry you have to deal with people like this! Ugh, I was about to go practice and stumbled on that comment... Let's just say I couldn't work on long tones without saying anything. (Although, to be honest, I'm never a fan in the best of circumstances.)

People are idiots, sometimes, and I'm sorry you have to deal with them.
(On the other hand, there are also brilliant people, so I guess it all evens out?)

Also, yes yes and yes to that which you say about Narnia. Though my geographical location was different, my experience was the same - innocence and imagination and cocoa and comfort. I adored those books, and still do.

There's a strange comfort in nostalgia at times, I think. Sometimes I wonder if it's more the feelings associated with them that I love more than books, really.

Give me any evidence that pasta's to blame for my countrymen's stupidity and I'll a) cut it out of my diet completely b) force the rest of the country to abstain from it. Even if the mere thought brings tears to my eyes.
I'm ready to give up my favourite food for five (relatively) Berlu-free years!

There are stages in my life where I hope to be like certain women and I am pleased to say that an older Judi Dench is definitely one of them.

Yeah, I'll take 15 minutes to go. *hugs*
