I has the dumb, as witnessed by the fact that I actually set to sorting my tags and ARGH HEADACHE NOW. I can only blame myself for being so stupid about it before, of course. When I'm done, it should be fairly nice and easy to use. I just gotta get there.

So, in fandom news:
- (Possible) Spoilers for Doctor Who make me go WTFOHNOTHEIMPLOSION. If they're real... WHAT, RTD, WHAT.
- (Possible) Spoilers for Battlestar Galactica make me worry, with a OMGTHATCOULDBEAWESOME.
- In the same fandom, posting why Lee/Kara suck to a general comm likely to shir shit, y/n? Or maybe past fandoms have just made me cynical. (Oh yeah, it made it to clairvoyantwank already. Hah.)
- Is anything a-happening in CSI fandom these days? Hmm. I don't pay much attention anymore, it seems.

Fanfic plans:
- A Doctor & Laura Roslin (not shippy, they mostly argue) fanfic for [livejournal.com profile] skybound2. It's warping my mind a bit.
- An AU one-year-on-Earth BSG fic. Probably ship-centric, knowing me.
- A Roslin/Adama fic on reasons for love.
- My kinda!crack Five Ways Rose Left Norway (and One Way Norway Left Her) with first-ever femslash for me.

In the news:
Democratic brawl continues.

I just want it over by now. By the time of the American election, I think I'll go a little batshit. It's like the monster that eats all other news. Can't you just... Merge Obama and Hillary and toss at McCain? For the sake of the world's sanity?

1. My parents took baby me to the football matches of Bodø-Glimt. This is clearly why I am now addicted to the game.
2. At school, I had three times the average reading spead. I'm not sure why, but I read really fast.
3. I like to read as I walk. Amazingly, I don't actually fall over that much.
4. I loathe the taste of hamburgers.
5. The first books I have a clear memory of loving were a series of sci-fi books by Norwegian author Jon Bing about aa library ship called Alexandria travelling between human colonies.
6. I've had sex on a race track.
7. The current pictures on the wall above my computer screen are: A lion, a lovely photo from Australia, a photo of Tromsø and artwork of tea.

I tag seven commenters that say 'moo' in this LJ.

I don't even watch anymore. How sad is that?

Not that sad... the only reason I watched in the first place is that the duo that does Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel, Adam and Jamie, made a cameo briefly.

Me, too, though I'm sure 2 was from lots and lots of practice. The not falling over from 3 is probably also practice, though I don't remember falling over or bumping into things as a kid, either. I'm actually more likely to bump into something while walking if I'm not reading, weirdly.

Ooo, I wonder if Jon Bing is translated into English, as that sounds fun.

Possibly 2 is the same with me. I had a librarian for mum, after all. But I was reading insanely fast at primary school already - I have vivid memories of the test and the reaction.

I doubt he is, alas. They're mostly children/youth books anyway, but they made a huge impression on me.

I don't think the CSI fandom is doing much these days. The only flare up I recall was two, three weeks ago and that drama was kept under wraps really well.

Thought this article (http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2008/05/04/where_do_all_the_neurotics_live/) might provide you with some entertainment. :)

Man, I used to be such a dedicated watcher and chronicler of CSI wank. But that was in its heyday - I guess people got wanked out a bit. No wonder.

*skims article, saves it for when brain is more coherent* Thanks, that does look worth a proper read :)

If you ever get the time, chronicling them all for Fan History would greatly amuse me. :-D Some of the things that go on behind the scenes on LiveJournal regarding various factions would also be interesting as the camps aren't really clear. (Also, I think a lot of the cool kid Geek!Love shippers are writing femslash these days.)

Map referenced is here (http://creativeclass.com/whos_your_city/maps/FIG_11.1_Personality_Maps.gif). I live in a place with extroverted, agreeable, neurotic people. :-D

I saved it all under CSI wankimplosion memories, but I'm not sure I've ever written a full summary. It all got kinda insane. Not sure there is a sensible way to sum it all up. My icon worked best - GSR: and then there was wank.

I was aware of some of the LJ stuff back in the day, but I think many of those have left now. Or maybe it was me who just stopped pay attention.

Some of it still goes on. (I can't get back on geekfiction to save my life and I've asked three people to intercede on my behalf. No dice. Moral of the story: Never cross velocity.) But CSI fandom has parts that are now much more behind the scenes, like when they threaten to sue you via e-mail for linking to their fan fiction. (It is probably they haven't wanked Fan History big time. Why draw attention?)

I've gone through and read some of your CSI wank fest because it was helpful to know. :) Entertaining but really hard to make sense out of what times appears to be an insane screaming match between various shipping and character factions.

Some of them have undoubtedly have left. Or are active only on mailing lists and YTDAW these days.

Mmm. Doctor Who fandom has parts of it that has literally locked itself away from the rest of the fandom. I wonder if it's some sort of human behavioural pattern in work at fandom at times, because some things sure repeat themselves.

There is like zilch sense in the wankimplosion. That's why I just mocked. It all got so stupid it was that or go a little mental. There were, as you said, just plain screaming matches. And of course, SpoilerGate.

Which Doctor Who spoiler is making you go WTFOHNOTHEIMPLOSION? Ooooo, intrigued! Is it the one regarding the Doctor's fate?

I'm trying hard not to get excited about those recent BSG spoilers, just in case...but I can't help myself!!!

Doctor & Laura Roslin (not shippy, they mostly argue) fanfic LOL! And here was me thinking I was being so original when I wrote my Doctor/Laura Roslin fanfic :) Though I've never owned up to it before, it was submitted as a challenge fic and wasn't my usual style but I gave it a shot (though I've never posted it anywhere but the post during the challenge).

A Roslin/Adama fic on reasons for love A/R is love :)

I've had sex on a race track. LOL! Fantastic :) I'm so glad you put a space between those last two words. Having sex on Racetrack the character probably would have resulted in many BSG fans going OMGWTFLOLTHATISFRAKKINGAMAZING!

Er, the one about Donna's fate. And who may have become a red Dalek. It would be slaughtering a character and I just. WHAT.

Part of it sounds a bit fanfic-scenario, really, but knowing how awesome the actors are I would totally buy and love it. Argh, spoilers play with my mind.

Ooh, where did you write? The one I am slowly writing is just something that came from [livejournal.com profile] skybound2 said she'd give me points if I crossed DW over with BSG. So when I started running plots in my head, the Doctor and Laura just suddenly started talking. And talking. I'm not even entirely sure who's winning,

I'm afraid I cannot claim to have slept on celebrities or fictional characters on the astral plane, heh. I'll be sure to keep you all posted if it happens.

WHAT?!!!!! I haven't heard that one. Ooooo. I haven't actually heard any Dr Who spoilers which is pretty surprising seeing as how the new season is in full flow and I'm usually pretty spoiled by this point.

Ooh, where did you write?

I'll post it on Survival Instinct. If you seach for redoren on there my fics are all listed. I'll post it asap, even though it was a bit...well...it wasn't my best :)

I'm afraid I cannot claim to have slept on celebrities or fictional characters on the astral plane, heh.

Avert your eyes if you don't want to be (possibly) spoiled.

Seriously.

Avert.

Harriet the PM has gone evil and hooks up with Davros and is partially Dalek-ified. Realities crack. Donna kills herself to fix all. the Doctor then changes history so she never travelled with him.

The idea just entertained me :P No need to post it just for me, but I won't say no to a read.

You'd think so, yet the Snapewives are still out there! And LQ. Oh God, LQ.

I have no idea. But hey, it's Doctor Who, there's always been total crack in the show. Granted, this would up it even more, but given the season three finale, this isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

We shall see indeed.

Oh, LQ. Link's Queen. She thought Link, the Nintendo pixel character came to her in lucid dreams. I ran into her years ago. It's a scary tale retold here.

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW.

Look away now, seriously.

I wish for once on New Who they'd keep a companion for more that one or two seasons! The show is good, don't they realise that! They don't have to keep it fresh by constantly changing up the cast. If Donna leaves now I'd be sad, she has so much more to give, imo. Plus then we wouldn't be put through any more LOL!BACKFROMTHEDEAD/ALT!WORLD/ETC.

Surprisingly, they're quiet! Although I did read an article of how Robert David Hall was baffled that Gary Dourdan would want to leave 'a hit show like CSI', and that Hall is signed on for three more seasons of CSI. Seriously, three more?!

Can't you just... Merge Obama and Hillary and toss at McCain? For the sake of the world's sanity?

I dunno. I think the best thing for the world's sanity, in the long run, is a 100% Obama as president of the US. Unless merging them just makes Obama a woman. I could go for that.

Date: 2008-05-08 08:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Hah.

From Norway's viewpoint, there's not really a huge difference between the candidates - they're all fairly conservative to us. I think last polls showed a slight preference for Obama, but really, anything but Bush would give us sanity these days.

For the US, of course, it's a choice with much more impact.

The CSI fandom is surprisingly quiet at the moment. GD was booked with 3 felonies I believe and Robert David Hall said that 99% was the cast and crew were happy that he was okay etc. It was funny because that obviously means that some people aren't.

There was also a little fuss because TV Guide has put Jorja Fox down as being in the finale, CBS hasn't. She was seen on the set not too long ago though so some people believe she might be making a tiny appearance. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

The fandom is generally not very active anymore. There isn't quite as much fanfiction and there are times when YTDaW is just about dead. I finally put Babydoll on my ignore user list too so I'm not getting any amusement from her. I think it just got to a point when I stopped finding her madness amusing and really wanted to reach into my computer and slap her really hard. I thought that was a little unhealthy so now I no longer have to read her posts unless other people quote them. Which they do pretty often unfortunately.

Oh, and there was a tiny spat about some people shipping Nick/Greg and others thinking that it was stupid.

Date: 2008-05-08 05:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Everyone else is buggering off but babydoll is still around? That's just not fair!

What she on about these days, then? The rightness of Nick/Cath still?

Date: 2008-05-08 05:28 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] broken-enemy.livejournal.com
LOL yes. Babydoll will never leave until her 'hillbilly' love becomes canon. She's also rejoicing about the fact that Warrick could die in the finale (or at least will be leaving) which means that the atrocity that is Warrick/Catherine will be dead forever because it disgusts her. Probably as much as gay people and non Christians disgust her. I don't know. Like I said, I put her on my ignore list a few weeks ago. Although I really think she's mentally unstable and thinks she's Catherine.

Date: 2008-05-08 05:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
I see the years have yet to give her some sanity. She still on about the wrongness of homosexuality and what-not? Oi.

This over at YTAW or what?

Date: 2008-05-08 05:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] broken-enemy.livejournal.com
I've never seen her anywhere else. Although it would be really freaky if she had some pseudonym on LJ and had friended us. She could be reading this as we speak. Oh no. It's the start of Babydoll paranoia syndrome.
