Money for racists and murderers - or how to make Cam enraged before breakfast

I don't even know where to begin with this one, it's so fucked up.

But right. So, this 82-year-old woman dies here in Norway and leaves a will. In it, she stipulates that the money from sale of her possessions shall be left to 'organizations and people who will work actively against foreign immigration to Norway'.

Charming, innit?

But that ain't the real kicker. The real kicker is that the appointed committee to distribute this money at first wanted to give 250,000 NOK to Ole Nicolai Kvisler. Who is he, you ask? Why, he'd be the total neo-Nazi asshat who murdered 15-year-old Benjamin Hansen some years back. Benjamin, you see, was dark-skinned (African father) and for that he was stabbed 21 times and was left to bleed to death in the dark. (He was born here, and really, was as Norwegian as me in every way.) It was Norway's first racially motivated murder after the war and it stunned the whole nation. I don't think I can express just how much that murder punched us all in the gut here. It was devastating.

And this committee of fairly known racists apparently wants to reward murder. With 250,000 NOK. (That's about 50,000 USD.)

RAGE.

So, the media reports on this and it seems the committee has fallen out (because of that or before, we don't know) and complained to the courts and maybe the asshat won't get the money at all.

I'm still pissed off like you wouldn't believe.

That these fuckwits even expressed the idea of rewarding a murderer, regardless of how you feel about immigration... I'm speechless. WHAT. And a good portion of the money is apparently also going to 'Vigrid', a neo-nazist, Holocaust-denying racist organisation whose founder used to live in my neighbourhood. (Believe me, I want to take a shower every time I remember that.) That organisation claims to be 'new Nordic', but they spew racial hatred and more or less advocate violence. In fact, Vigrid seems to believe they're the organisation who deserves the whole inheritance and has made a passionate plea for it.

For their stellar work in claiming Hitler was a misunderstood woobie, no doubt. EAT SHIT, VIGRID. Other people who are apparently rewarded includes a guy who's convicted for death threats.

There are seriously not words for how much rage I'm feeling at the moment. But I know what I'm going to do later today - donate some money to an anti-racist organisation of my choice. Because this kind of fuckwit thinking? Not what I want unopposed in my country.

I want to throw up.

Just.. I have no words, really.

I regularly give money to one organisation called SOS Rasisme, but I think I need to feel like I'm doing something to counter this total repulsive batshit. Since I can't actually smack these people with a Viking helmet and all.

That's actually a good question. I think we have something on it, because there was a case with a triple murder over inheritance that lead to the murders losing their right as heirs. But that is recent and not without issues, so I'm not sure exactly what the laws are on this in Norway.

This committee of asshats might claim the money is for something else, of course. The guy had been involved in the neo-Nazi organisations prior to the murder. I don't know, it's really sick either way.
