lizbee: Post the first lines from your 25 most recent drafts. Although in this case, I used first paragraphs if they seemed to work better.
(In random order, finished or otherwise. Those finished have a link to them, so if they don't they're still a work in progress.)
1. This is the day Bill Adama gets laid, and it's about frakking time.
("It Will Be Life Soon", BSG for the Adama/Roslin gift exchange)
2. "I wonder, Admiral, would you know how to get me on my back?"
("Fighting for a Draw", BSG Adama/Roslin)
3. All the waiting in space, and all Bills seems to be getting from it is Laura's disappointment.
("Love (As They Say)", BSG Adama/Roslin)
4. Today, the Fleet gets good news, Laura Roslin writes a list, Bill Adama gets laid - and on Earth, it's already tomorrow in Australia.
("Tomorrow in Australia", BSG Adama/Roslin probably never to be completed)
5. There are these legends humans sometimes have, the TARDIS knows. Justice, truth and the human way. Thunder as a god's trek across the sky. Cats having nine lives. Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future visiting.
("A TARDIS Carol", Doctor Who Doctor/companions)
6. It is not a well-attended wedding
("Nothing But", BSG Adama/Roslin)
7. Laura Roslin is the President of the Twelve Colonies. Admiral Adama doesn't know it yet, but he will love her for it.
("Five Reasons Bill Loved Laura", BSG Adama/Roslin)
8. Cell, cell, cell, cell... It really is such a little word for something looming so large in the mind, the Doctor thinks. It sounds so neat and almost smart on the tongue, but in his head it's starting to scream a lot.
("Life Enough", BSG/Doctor Who crossover)
9. There comes a point where the brain just lets go. Life stops being interactive and becomes a movie, scenes just running without commentary. There is nothing left to say.
("Void Definitions", Doctor Who AU Doomsday Doctor/Rose)
10. "I love you. That's very him, Rose."
("Forever Is Impossible (and we're still stuck in Norway)", Doctor Who Doctor/Rose)
11. Once upon a time there was a planet…
No. That's not quite the start of the story. It's a start, but stories aren't just shaped by what happens, but who it happens to. So. We'd like you to get to know to Rose Tyler.
(Untitled, Doctor Who Doctor/Rose)
12. There are, Rose has decided, approximately six reactions to the discovery your boyfriend is an alien.
("Normality in November" part II, Doctor Who, Doctor/Rose)
13. "Richard!"
"Hello, Laura."
("One Life", BSG Adama/Roslin)
14. It was said when they found her, blood clung to her blonde hair and madness fought stars in her eyes.
("Rose's Claim", Doctor Who Doctor/Rose)
15. Bill didn't believe in Earth
("What You See In Light", BSG Adama/Roslin)
16. You can't predict a murder. It can come from the most innocent-looking meek human, from a perfect marriage, from an untroubled family, from the rich man's son with everything.
(Untitled, CSI Brass-centric)
17. Somewhere above the clouds, Laura knows, there's a sun. There's a star, filtered through space and atmosphere to become a sun, to vanish for night and hold for day. A sun, to steer seasons, effect weather and follow humans. There is a sun.
("To Halve and to Hold", BSG Adama/Roslin)
18. Once upon a time there was a young woman who went to the moon, saved the kingdom and won the alien. Sort of.
("Stuff (or How to Shag a Time Lord in Six Simple Steps)", Doctor Who Doctor/Martha)
19. There are a lot of ways to get laid, the years have taught Bill Adama. But he has to admit 'by executive order' is a first for him.
(Untitled, BSG Adama/Roslin)
20. Laura Roslin never really thought she'd see Earth. Oh, she had hope she would, and desire to, and a half promised to Bill it would be together they came there, but somewhere in the back of her mind, the prophecies had always lurked. She had trusted them, let them guide her and doom her too.
("kiss your sorrows on my skin (you can't erase them)", BSG Adama/Roslin)
21. The problem of love is this - it's never even.
(Untitled, unknown)
22. It isn't something she says. It isn't really anything she does, either, though the little push of her tongue against her upper lip does help. It's just something in her air, something in the way she sits in the grass that tells him it'll be All Right.
(Untitled, Doctor Who Human!Doctor/Rose)
23. Laura doesn't know her body anymore.
("Studies in Body Language", BSG Adama/Roslin)
24. There is no warmth in Earth's sun, and Laurs finds herself seeking it in Bill instead; his embrace is the only heat her body seems to recognise anymore.
("These Things We Live By", BSG Adama/Roslin)
25. Once, Laura remembers, she walked in on her neighbour's parents. Too young to understand, she listened intently to the explanation of the mother having a sudden desire to wash all the clothes, including those she and Mr. Ackle were wearing. Laundry, Mrs Ackle would insist, cheeks flustered. Just doing laundry.
("Sleeping With Your Laundry", BSG Adama/Roslin)

Date: 2008-07-17 11:19 pm (UTC)Ha ha, and I'll probably go back and read all of these again, now that I'm thinking about them.

Date: 2008-07-18 06:40 am (UTC)I skimmed some of them myself as I was doing the meme. It's very odd rereading your own stuff at times.

Date: 2008-07-17 11:30 pm (UTC)Seeing at the very top of the list made me giggle. It's 7.30am and simply way too early to react coherantly other than 'HEE!' (... if it's possible to make a coherant reaction to that, anyway).

Date: 2008-07-18 07:01 am (UTC)I might have to try this meme. Though it will certainly be interesting just finding 25 fics I've started. I might get all the way back to my Water Rats days if I do.
