In today's WTF, courtesy of lotus79, the abstinence thong. Yeah, that's right. In other stuff:

- Writing fic as challenged by lotus79, which has to include socks, hammer, bathrobe, hotwater bottle and a cat and is titled "Five Times Bill Adama Got Laid". I got the socks done.
Bill never gets the time to take his socks off.

The moment he closes the hatch, Laura is in his personal space, an invasion he isn't sure is an act of war or if he just surrendered a long time and she's only now gotten around to claim the victory. Her eyes are dark, watching his lips and he can feel the heat of her body through layers of cloth.

"Laura," he says mildly. It doesn't soften her expression, and her fingers are like claws on his uniform, not letting go.

"I'm going to die," she says. Her voice doesn't shake, but her hand does, a light tremor he can feel straight to his heart.

- Law and Order: UK is going to be fandom crossover for me - Apollo and Martha! (Well, their actors.) But that would be one hot hookup too, so I approve already. Since I have a sort of lingering affection for the L&O shows, I think I'll give it a try.

- Planning falena84's visit here in less than a month. Whee. I've decided since she's Italian and therefore can't be impressed by culture or old buildings, fjords and mountains will have to do it. Work it for Norway, fjords! Now I just need the weather to cooperate.

- This anon flame is lol, especially since that fic ain't all that peervy or anything. And the IP reveals it's some Aussie who left it. Don't like the sex, Aussies?

- Anyone else been getting quite a few comments of late on older Doctor/Rose stuff? I have - wondering if the finale made people interested again or something. Sadly, I feel a bit ungrateful for wishing I was getting those for Adama/Roslin stuff instead. Feedback is love either way of course, but extra love when it's for something you're currently excited about.

So, LJ is a bit quiet, I am a bit overworked, pained and annoyed SciFi still hasn't coughed up new BSG trailer for general viewing, and how are you?

This fills me with glee already! My screen would implode from the hotness. Can't wait for any sort of promo pics to leak out.

However, this piece of news doesn't even come close to the glee-inducing heights of...the Great Norway Trip. Don't worry about making an impression me because a) I'm very easily impressionable b) all the stuff that I read about Norwegian heaven on earth society kinda makes me well-inclined towards the country c) the more different to what I'm used to the scenery is, the better.

I want the BSG trailers too. *glares at Sci-fi*

Hot and very impatient to be officially done with uni. Also currently filling in the shoes of the Queen of the House (=Mum) and more and more convinced that I will fail at the whole Italian Housewife thing.

I love storms. I love watching them. Storms and the weather in general have always really fascinated me. We had a storm on Monday night but it might as well not have happened. Did nothing to clear the air of this awful stickiness we've had for over a week now.

LJ does seem very quiet at the moment, but that's the summer hols for you. All the sites I visit are much quieter than usual and it's really frustrating. Makes me want September and school time to start back up because it's always much busier then.

Also, I totally bought Twilight LOL! I know, it's not the kind of book I would usually pick up, but I was at the airport without a book and it was 'buy one get one half price' so I got that as my 'half price book'. Plus I have a friend who has spent a fair amount of time this last year saying how much she loves this book so I figured, give it a shot. It might not be as bad as I expect. :)

Although, it might be.

The Twilight series is unequivocally the biggest obsession in my life right now and pretty much everything that is awesome and right in my world. Honestly, those are some of the best books I've ever read and I don't have enough words for how much I love them.

I do find it interesting that the series seems to either inspire obsessive, devoted love or extreme distaste. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground there and I'm thinking that has a lot to do with the fact that the books have this way of strongly triggering certain personality characteristics in one way or another. They're certainly very powerful, in either direction.

Really? All I've heard and all the excerpts I've read have just given me blah vibes. And actually, I think the extreme distaste have a lot to do with how much publicity the books have gotten in some parts of the world and not as much with the books themselves. Probably it's also a reaction to how much some people love them as well. It's a very common counter-reaction to be more passionate about dislike when faced with very strong like of something. A lot of people might otherwise just have been very 'eh'.

Tastes do vary and some books/movies/TV shows do seem to be more polarizing than others.

*sighs* Well, the first time I tried to read Twilight, I got to page 23, which is barely into chapter two. The second time, I made it to the end of chapter two. *more sighs* I keep hearing about the cracky lulz quality of it and that makes me want to read it. So I try... and I quickly get bored. It's such a tedious wish-fulfilment/self-insert story. So far, I have failed to find any crackiness, but perhaps I need to get past chapter two? IDK. It's just so hard, especially when I have piles of unread books lying about that promise to actually be good and well-written. I'm wondering if perhaps I need to be a bit drunk to read more of Twilight?

At least I have it (as well as the second and third books in the series) downloaded on my computer as a PDF and didn't actually pay for it. (That would have made me angry as it would have been akin to paying for MarySue fan fiction.) Part of the problem in trying to read the blasted thing, is that because it's on the computer, I'm tempted instead to watch more of either Foyle's War or old school Who, and I'm afraid Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle and/or the Third Doctor usually win out.

(I am, however, fully enjoying the TwiWank, especially the recent spoilery stuff at F_W pertaining to a supposed "epilogue" that rivals JKR's in how it no doubt anger the fans.)

I think I'm going to see the Twilight film, though. I'm hoping (and it certainly appears so from the trailers I've seen) it'll be on the level of vampire badness that Queen of the Damned was. Yes, QotD was so very bad, but so very entertainingly bad--it's such a guilty pleasure of mine.

Yeah, there are so many books and so little time - I mean, I might enjoy reading it for crack, but I still haven't read the latest Novik book, or enjoyed the Calvin and Hobbs collector's edition I got, or some books I got for my birthday... It's a long list, and takes a bit to move up on it.

But the wank about it is indeed entertaining.
