And thus falena84 left Norway and I have returned to bug you all once more. Yay?

We saw the sights of Oslo, went to Flåm, ran into my parents at Balestrand (which is the other side of the country), Bergen, Stavanger and went up to the Pulpit Rock. falena84 took way, way more pictures than me and so I plan to show off some of her later, but here's Elisa and a stave church, scenery, a pretty hotel, Elisa at Pulpit Rock, a penguin, Elisa and my mother and more scenery.

In other notes:

- I got my Battlestar Galactica calender for 2009 - but it had mostly older pictures and Adama, Roslin and Tigh didn't have a month of their own. Gaeta and Dee had, though. I like both of them, but hai, what's with the hiding of the (slightly) older people? I feel miffed, I do. Totally wasn't hoping for hot Adama/Roslin shot, nooooo.

- Watched my McCallum DVDs with falena84, which reminded me that John Hannah is indeed very, very hot. Mmm yes.

- Heeeeey, shiny new Grissom and Sara shot. Stop trying to draw me back, CSI.

- What the heck is with this SciFi conspiracy to keep the trailer BSG trailer away from us? Showed at DragonCon but not in any BSG 'shows', WTH?

- Interesting article on 'frak' making its way into popular usage.

- Is anything much happening in Doctor Who land, or has everyone wandered off to watch Hamlet, write Jack/Ianto and/or wait for Sarah Jane Adventures?

And now, two weeks off. WHEEEEE VACATION. I haven't had one in ages, I am so looking forward to doing nothing. Blessed, blessed nothing. Which I will start by going to bed. Hah.

Norway looks gorgeous. I have spent my entire life living in the Midwest-I love Chicago but it's flatttttt-and would love to visit Norway someday.

Well, a lot of these pictures are from Sognefjorden, so if you lived there, that's what you'd see in your day to day life. People do live there.

Paradise I would not call it - for one thing, the weather can be mean - but it is fairly pretty and calm most places here.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your little Norwegian adventure so much, and I like the photos you've posted. Your scenery is certainly very photogenic! (A good friend of mine returned from her most recent holiday to Norway last year with over 1,000 pictures.)

She German too? Because Germans go a bit mad in Norway with everything and the moose. But yeah, there are a lot of very pretty sights along the fjords.

Yes, she's also German. And she did buy a little plush moose for me with a wee Norwegian flag on its flank, and all. So much for the national stereotypes.

But my friend's also a nature-lover in general and a huge photography geek, which might explain her temporary fit of trigger-happy insanity at the fjords.

It's a pity the timing wasn't a bit different--I have 3 weeks more work and THEN I get two weeks holidays.

In local news, we had a state election on Saturday, and now we have a hung parliament. Neither Labor nor Liberal got a clear majority, so it look pretty much up to the National party to decide who to "buddy up" with. Not sure how I feel about this.

Nationals have been a bit politically invisible since they and the Libs had a bit of a falling out. Their main appeal and motivation is the country areas. Which probably explains how they got the power here, the country vote in WA is strong, since we're so remote.

Oh dear, I knew I'd wake up to find my silly face plastered all over LJ. The Norwegian prettiness makes up for it, though. Btw, I'm downloading the crapload of pics I took (almost 400), I will have a post up by the end of the day. I see lotsa people are interested in Norwegian scenery, I could leave it public, maybe...
