Amsterdam: some pictures

I am home from Amsterdam!

Had a smashing time, lovely weather and lots of good food. Yes, pancakes too.



View from our hotel, canal and all. We had an Irish bar one one side, and a gay one on the other. Note the bikes, that there are a gazillion of in Amsterdam.

All in all, fun was had and was nice seeing my brother again. But now I am exhausted - my feet hurts from too much walking, I've got a gazillion things to catch up on and I missed important football happenings while I was gone. But I did send cards to all that asked. Expect them in like a week or so. (If you live in the US, anyway.)

STILL NO TRAILER!

So, umm... no, not really. But I start hols on Friday, whee! Oh, and I had a BBC!fangirl moment about half an hour ago when I found this after hours of fruitless searching for resources to use for the ESL kids I'm tutoring. I am seriously going to marry it, it's brilliant.

Marius looks very like you with short hair in that second shot. Also, I love that in the background it's all tulips and clogs. How very Dutch!

I was listening to Patton Oswalt bits yesterday and he was talking about when he went to Amsterdam, and he was talking about how he'd thought there was free admitance to the Anne Frank house and ended up hiding behind a bookshelf to avoid getting kicked out (and thereby looking like a dick).

...That made less sense than I thought it would.

But yeah, pretty pictures. We don't get pretty cities like that around here (unless you count the neighborhood around the Brown campus, which isn't a city).
