Sorry for vanishing a bit... World of Warcraft has eaten me a bit again, with expansion coming up and much excitement. Evil, brilliant game gah. Also some life stuff that is not that exciting.
But I did see Amazon shipped me my BSG season 4.0 DVD - I live in hope it has something exciting on it (like trailer) when it arrives, though probably not.
In notes and stuff:
- This wank about missing money, trying to revive a cancelled show and bus ads is just insane. And also a good show of why one should be just a weeee bit careful about trusting people with money online. At least large sums. Ye Gods.
- Economic crisis has bow gone boom and also spread to Europe. Oi. But this sketch does rather explain the whole thing in a funny way.
- Funny site I check weekly - CakeWrecks.
- Skimming
fandomsecrets, I rather smiled at this BSG love one, eyerolled at this WoW one (way to miss the point of the game, yes) and sighed at the Doctor Who one.(Though I agree it's not a happy end. But it is a potential end.)
- Speaking of Doctor Who, posting fic with notes containing Martha bashing does not me please. Fixing the post on T&C but failing to fix the post linked to which then still merrily goes after Martha? Displeases me and gets a fail to boot.
- Norway's albino moose is in danger again.
- I have bought myself Dexter and The Tudors on DVD to see if either agrees with me.
- Starting to ponder Christmas - would anyone be up for a Christmas gift exchange again? I'll probably do some post on it further into October, just curious if there's anyone interested to begin with.
How is you? (Did cards arrive for those who wanted?)

Date: 2008-10-05 03:48 pm (UTC)I saw that, and automatically hated the fic on principle. Like, WTF? I really don't get character hate in general, but people who feel the need to announce it on fic posts/headers, especially in communities? Need to DIAF.

Date: 2008-10-06 12:06 pm (UTC)Apparently, albino moose does happen from time to time - was one in Finland a few years back too.

Date: 2008-10-05 05:45 pm (UTC)The BSG secret makes me smile as well. Because they really are right about it being the best show out there. Other shows might make my fan button go a bit nutser, but BSG is hjust quaility through and through.
The DW one though? Makes me unhappy as well. The fact that they refer to him as a copy means that they've completely missed the point with this one. And they sound ridiculously bitter as well, which always makes me think their reasons for that secret are suspect.
I love cakewrecks :-D

Date: 2008-10-06 12:10 pm (UTC)DW fandom has gone so divided by lines opinions go a bit extreme at times, I think. Personally, I think a Doctor with a human heart and a touch of Donna, but with the Doctor's memories is much more than a copy and much more potential in it. Fanfic-wise, anyway.

Date: 2008-10-05 06:15 pm (UTC)I would not be at all surprised if the BSG one is from someone on my flist!! :P
And sorry, but the WoW one did make me laugh!! XD
DW, yeah not a happy ending at all, but I wouldn't say it made me lose all respect for Rose...

Date: 2008-10-05 06:57 pm (UTC)Speaking of money, though: Theoretically speaking, I'd be very interested in Christmas gift exchanges; practically, I don't think I can / should afford this sort of stuff this year. Sorry. Just so you know.

Date: 2008-10-06 12:15 pm (UTC)I could still send you a little something from Norway. There are some people I will send to without making it an exchange as such anyway.

Date: 2008-10-06 07:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, you can probably sponsor at least three orphans in developing countries, go on a nice holiday to a really expensive country like Iceland or Japan and have some leftovers for a DVD set of your choice... Or a really, really big Moonlight poster. Sheesh.
And thanks for the offer, but no. It's very sweet of you, and I coulsn't accept it. My reluctance to spend anything at the moment is less related to actual destitution than to a paranoid grabbing-on-to-every-cent-because-my-bosses-don't-know-quite-yet-whether-our -company-will-be-bankrupt-in-five-months-or-not...
Thanks a bunch anyway!

Date: 2008-10-05 06:59 pm (UTC)And the economic crisis...anything to do with economics in general makes my head go boom. The video explained the confusing subprime mess rather well, though, so I am slightly less confused about that now.
It's great to see you posting, btw. I was thinking about you just yesterday and wondering how you were since you hadn't posted an entry in a while. I was getting worried! I'm glad to see you're fine. :D

Date: 2008-10-06 12:19 pm (UTC)It did, heh. I got a father that has a degree in economics, so I've picked up a certain understanding of things over the years, but the subprime thing really challenges my sense of logic. But then, so did Enron.
Ah, sorry. Not at all something to worry about. head's up - if I vanish around November that's just WoW expansion. ;)
