This is entirely a World of Warcraft post. Flee! Flee!
Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition reserved and ready to be picked up in the morning? Check.
Food, drink and other supplies in house so no need to shop for a few days? Check.
Main WoW character stocked with supplies, arrows, bag space and placed on the docks ready to catch the first available boat to Northrend? Check.
AddOns updated? Check.
Excitement? Check.
Oh yeah, expansion is out tomorrow. I'm so ready.
I've certainly had fun last few months getting through a lot of endgame content though.

Last boss in Mount Hyjal, Archimonde. You might remember him from Warcraft 3. Annoying fight in the extreme because one mistake from one person in your 25-man raid can kill everyone. But at this point we've won the fight - at 10% health wisps arrive, you get immune to all damage and he snuffs it.

And he's dead!

Meanwhile, in Black Temple, Reliquary of Souls was next on our hit list. Bit of an odd fight with three phases, each the 'Essence' of something. This is the last phase.

No more souls for that reliquary.

Here we've killed Mother Shahraz, who always gave me Fatal Attraction first and got me killed (as we skipped shadow resistance gear and just nuked her). I hope she likes it dead.

Illidari council. Four mobs, sharing health, all annoying. Long fight and almost as annoying as Kael. Almost, mind you.

Illidan! He wasn't all that happy to see us. This fight is long and got a million different stuff happening - fire elementals appear, he give speople parasite, he turns into demon, he does flame crash, he gives people inner demons - but it's actually rather fun. Because it's Illidan.

Maive appears at one point in the fight. You might remember her from Warcraft 3 too. Illidan's even less happy to see her.

We've killed him! Whole guild went mad and it was truly something hard to top. Oh, and on our second kill of him we got a legendary warglaive too. Oooh yeah.

We've also been going into Sunwell Plateau, and here we've managed to free blue dragon Kalegcos of his demon and thus downed first boss. It's a fairly chaotic fight involving random teleportation to 'shadow' realm where the demon is inbetween kicking the (then possessed) dragon's ass.

Further into Sunwell Plateau, bigass demon Brutallus gets challenged by blue dragon Madrigosa. He kills her. Aww :(

So we killed him. Unfortunately, as you can see vaguely in the background, he turned the dragon into undead evil frostwyrm. Which we have to kill. Aww :(
Our Brutallus kill can also be downloaded as a vid here.
Very ready for new challenges now, oh yes.

Date: 2008-11-12 07:06 pm (UTC)But I am very happy I got the collector's edition, though. And with how tired I am today, staying up would make me a zombie anyway. Early tomorrow will do for me.

Date: 2008-11-12 08:12 pm (UTC)When the servers are bogged down or I'm just missing the old worlds, I still have my level 46 warlock alt that I can take a break and go level and I'm seriously considering rolling a death knight as my third. Not sure if I'm going to start leveling him right away, considering how overcrowded the starting zone is going to be at first. But I'd really like to try some tanking.
Are you going to be rolling one?
My guild is more of a casual raiding group, so we run about three times a week and have done everything except Black Temple, Mount Hyjal and the Sunwell. I'm hoping I'll still get to see those areas as we approach 80 and can handle them more easily, but I've been really happy with my progression as a player. Considering that I had never even played the game five months ago, I think I'm moving along pretty well.

Date: 2008-11-13 03:54 am (UTC)I got several alts I can play with if I feel like it, anyway. A druid, a shaman, a mage, all above 60. The druid is feral and has tanked a bit. Mostly all I see of bosses is my own big furry butt. Bears got some serious butt. My hunter will always be my main, though.
We do four times a week. Honestly, when I joined the guild, I didn't think we'd have this much progress, but it's really gone well and we got Illidan, whoo. We'l continue to poke about Sunwell while we level as well. The gear there is seriously good even beyond level 70.
And yeah, I'd say you're doing quite well indeed. I started playing just before TBC came out, so I haven't been around as long as some. I remember the feeling of being new to it.

That's my character. I'm hoping to get a nice, shiny Sunwell bow though.

Date: 2008-11-12 09:01 pm (UTC)I'm so pissed at Blizzard... been counting down to WOTLK, been leveling like crazy to get high enough for Northrend, and I could have done it last night if not for the stupid mailbox issues going on forever... and ever... and ever.
Oh well... it's gonna be awesome tomorrow anyway. :D

Date: 2008-11-13 03:59 am (UTC)I heard about that! Don't think it affect EU servers. Supremely annoying. So, stuck at lvl 67? That blows. But hey, Outland will be fairly empty so you can get the last quests done in peace and quiet ;)
Yes!

Date: 2008-11-13 04:38 am (UTC)My boy's picking up our copies tonight, and if a friend of mine gets on I'm making him run me through instances with his mage. I might be able to hit 68 then and be able to play tomorrow...
oh well, at least the boy promised he'd stay out of Northrend until I could come with, hehe.

Date: 2008-11-13 12:22 am (UTC)So I shall have to wait 4-6 days for it to ship here from the UK. Ah well, there's time to get Raystlin to 70.
And I did get to be on the dock at midnight to watch the first ship leave for Northrend. Just sucks I couldn't go on it!

Date: 2008-11-13 04:12 am (UTC)But yeah, no point getting expansion yet then. Nothing in Wrath is useful for below lvl 68, unlike TBC which had two new races to play and areas for lower levels.

Date: 2008-11-19 07:20 am (UTC)THERE IS AN AGENT SKULLY AND A DEATHGUARD MOLDER IN WoW. I WISH I COULD PLAY JUST SO I COULD SEE THIS (evidently she gives out quests regarding The Truth?). HOW FREAKING AWESOME.
