It's a shame the Tinhats don't read Norwegian newspaper, because VG just posted an interview they'd had with Elijah Wood where he used a whole paragraph on what he enjoy in women, and that brilliance of him having two hands and women having two breasts.

But that's just PR making him say that, isn't it? *rolls eyes*

And they caught Saddam. Interesting. I hope he'll be tried before a genuine war crimes tribunal, because after all, if you want to make a country democratic, there must be a rule of law for all. We'll see, I suppose.

I think they said they were putting him before a newly elected War Crimes Tribunal in Iraq. Though there are some objections for an international one - like what they did for the bloke in the Yugoslavian massacres.

Not just one bloke - many blokes. But I guess you meant the main man, Milosovich. He's tried at the International war crimes tribunal here in Europe.

I can understand the Iraqis wanting to try him themselves, but at present they do not have the legal system in place to do so - and it may take a long while to get there. So we'll see.

Yeah, the tribunal was only set up in the last week, I s'pose. But they do have a right to judge him themselves.

Yes, they do, but there are some worries about how this will be done. The Iraqi governing council was put in there by the Americans, after all, so they are not elected of the Iraqi people. And laws should be passed by elected representatives. Iraq has a way to go yet before it has a genuine rule of law and genuinely fair trials. (That's not to say as soon as that is in place trials will be fair, of course. Other factors play in.) If they rush a trial through some people are likely to cry foul, which might make things worse. I don't know. Let's just hope the Americans don't try to judge him, because that'll fuel anger towards them even more, and I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.
