Minor conflicts and news from Norway
May. 19th, 2004 02:58 pmSo, another minor PPC blow-up. I'm torn between feeling obliged to somehow attempt to help fix it and my urge to just stay the hell away. But I do believe there needs to be some kind of change - perhaps in attitude, perhaps in the PPC Constitution, perhaps in venue. My first instict was that the PPC needs an ombudsman, but I don't know if that could actually work. It's a thought, anyway.
Meanwhile, I'm still beta'ing for the young author of a LotR/Buffy crossover who got fairly bad reviews from a lot of PPCers. (Yes. I am actually a fairly nice person. Don't tell anyone.) She's nice, and fairly grateful even if she thinks I use a lot of "fancy" words. Heh. That's what years of Thesaurus use do for you, I guess.
And Norway's busy with conflicts as well - today the third strike started, this time in the brewery business. No beer and no soda. Well, I guess it'll be good for our health in some ways to drink less of such things, but I fear it'll put a dampner on the good moods about. Norwegians need sugar too!
I shall survive by stocking up on icetea. Hmm-mmm. *nods* I need my sweet drinks if I am to work on the plans for "The Return of Leif" properly.
Norway's very young little princess (and second heir to the throne), Ingrid Alexandra, celebrating May 17th. Isn't she adorable? When Norway invades the US, she'll be your princess for a while as well, Americans. Learn to love her. (Hmmm, how would the US fare as a constitutional monarchy?)
Now, the the sub the Americans lost here in Norway was found washed up on a beach by a Norwegian (*cue HaHA!*), but apparently the British managed to lose one as well. Jeez. Is Norwegian waters especially alluring to subs so that they all wander off, or something?
My cat is right now sleeping in my bed, with his head on my pillow. That little sneak.
And to finish, a meme that's been going around.
I want anyone and everyone who reads this to post in here something they would LIKE to do with me SOMEDAY.
Then post this in your journal to find out what I want to do with you.

Date: 2004-05-21 11:18 am (UTC)But I should actually have said that I keep the door closed so the siblings don't get in (they're very nosy), and that keeps the kitties and dogs out as well. ^_^; If Chip wants in to someone's bed, he yowls at the top of his lungs at 4am. He prefers to take over Mom's and Dad's bed to mine since it's much bigger, or to hog one of my sisters', since she's got the top of a bunk bed and he likes the height. Or my grandmother's bed, since he's got tons of shedding black fur and she's got white bed spread he likes to leave it all on. Anything but mine or my brother's, I guess. ^_^;
Heehee, last night Chip was sitting on the back porch railing, sitting and looking handsome as I took some pictures of him, and suddenly the dogs started barking. He was so surprised that he jumped, lost his balance and fell sideways off the porch and through the bushes to the ground below. Poor kitty, he ran straight into the woods and didn't come back until an hour or two later, and then he pretended like nothing happened. ^_^;
