A part of me is feeling the kind of mood that must have driven my forefathers to plunder, maim and kill and compose lovely sagas about it later (Viking pride - plundering, maiming and killing with style since 800 A.D). Good grief, people can be a pain (myself included). This was your utterly unrelated whine for the day.

So Bush have been talking to the UN and managed not to insult half the world while at it. My, my, Bush. Are we going soft? And will this make me go soft on you? *thinks* Naaaah. Once I hold a grudge, come the end of days and I will still not be soft. I'm like stale cheese that refuse to melt.

Meanwhile, my brother has discovered his socialist soul and is reading Jack London's "The Iron Heel" and musing about the US elite and whether or not there will be a revolution. Hmmm. I say invasions are more fun than revolutions.

A peek into the going-ons of Cam's ever-writing muse:

“I must see you die.” Legolas spoke bitterly, something almost like anger stirring in his soul. “I love you, yet you will pass like the green of spring and all that will remain of my heart will be cold.”

“You will take that wound,” the Dwarf acknowledged. “But think not only you will suffer. Every day I know that I will cause you pain, that my death will make your life seem darker. The guilt snaps at my heart with every breath you take, every bright look I see in your eyes. I would have you live your life filled with joy and those terrible Elven songs you enjoy so much, yet by loving you I must cause you grief.”

Legolas did not answer for a moment, staring at the horizon with a distant look. Suddenly, he fixed his keen glance on Gimli. “Are we arguing over who will suffer the most?”

A shadow of a smile crossed Gimli’s face. “We seem to be.”

~ Nocturne

“I don’t want to wake up to see I have never lived, Sara.”

The revelation made her look up, eyes dark and filled with pain. His own hurt flared up and for a moment he almost wished she had not brought him to this point. She could hurt him, even in the scientist tower he had built in the sky. So far away, yet she reached in.

Hurt was life, human life. No pain and you were sleepwalking.

“It is time to wake up,” he told her and held out a hand. For a moment, he thought she might refuse. For a moment, he was the man in the moon, distant and untouchable.

But then she touched him. Hesitantly and with eyes still dark, she took his hand in hers. And there would be hurt and pain, complications he would not know the solution to and effects and causes and he would not be able to merely observe.

It would be life. Dreams would still haunt, but they would be just dreams. You could always come awake.

And he kissed her in the bright sunlight of the morning, the long night over and the moon gone.

It was past time to wake up.

And somewhere in the US of A, Billy and Dom were sleeping off a gigantic hangover, while two little Hobbits eagerly unleashed upon the world their latest literary masterpiece.

“Bush’s Naughty Blair-Boinking and Other Tales of the White House Hoes."

You wouldn't be tittering if you'd read it. They have foul minds, they do.

*hands over chocolate* Perhaps that will help?

On a slightly related note, when I was younger I thought it would be terribly romantic to be stolen away by a raiding Viking. Part of me still does. I can't watch anything on the History Channel about Viking now without rooting for them, since they're forever imprinted on my mind as Completely!Sexy.

Are you also in the mood to donate bits of your language to forever be incorporated into the English language? ^_^

So Bush have been talking to the UN and managed not to insult half the world while at it. My, my, Bush. Are we going soft? And will this make me go soft on you?

As far as I'm concerned, he is WAY past his chances for softness. Or WAY before. I know my grudge won't be lifted until a long while after he apologizes to every family who lost a relative in that war he came into office wanting to go to, and to every soldier and Iraqi civilian who went through the trauma of that war, and every person in the world affected by the terrorism that war caused. And to everyone negatively affected by his refusal to keep church and state separate, and to the United States for taking what good reputation we had in the world and pretty much just breaking it over his knee like he was breaking a board in some showy karate move, and to the rest of the world for giving them reason to become more dissatisfied with our attitude. And to future generations, for whatever parts of this mess haven't been cleaned up when they inherit.

The US having another revolution? Heh, if Bush wins again, or makes for a messy Election Day aftermath (say Kerry really wins but he steals the victory anyway), I know quite a few people who will be revolted enough to want to start revolting...

I always feel like donating parts of my language to English ;)

I sense from your dart-throwing you will be one of those revolting? (And yes, for me to go soft on Bush, he'd have to have a personality transplant. And a body transplant. And a soul transplant. Then maybe I'd be soft.)

Heehee, my first resource for my Viking paper so far is last semester's History of the English Language textbook, it's fun seeing the loadwords that have been incorporated into English. ^_^ So what would be a good interjection/exclamation for Americans to adopt from Norwegian?

Oh yeah, I'll revolt... heck, I'll even let other revolutionists gather at my house and we'll rent movies and eat pierogies or something the night before the revolution. (If the pierogies won't just sit like a rock in the stomach all night, that is.)

And somehow that idea makes me want to take the Declaration of Independence and reword it to declare independence from the tyrant King George Bush. ^_^;

Hopp i havet - go jump in the sea.

I find tea and bagles excellent revoluntionary snacks. *nods sagely* And be sure to watch inspiring movies. With lots of beheadings and marching.

King Bush? Ugh, there's something that should never be. Long live Future Queen Ingrid Alexandria! *There's* royalty.

:D Love it!

Bagels sound good -- I have a few of those in the fridge, and they don't make me feel like my arteries are clogging as I sit and plan world takeover. Tea goes well with American Revolutions, too, though I can't have it. And will scour Blockbuster and the local library for inspirational movies.

I thought King Bush already *was*. *flies a Future Queen Ingrid Alexandria flag in her room*

*Hugs* about the annoying day. I feel the pain, really I do. You've been greatly missed, particularly by my sanity.

Here's something to hopefully make you feel better or at least cultivate the Viking persona in you even more. Have you seen the latest...mmm...tidbit from a "she" (yes, I wrote that on purpose) over at Dabblings? I had no idea pedophilia was something M.Bloom indulged in *smirk*

Give Bush time. He'll do something incredibly moronic within hours, I am sure of it. When I was watching the UN address on the plane, it was...special. Don't like it, don't like it at all. It's a prelude to something...*Mission Impossible theme*

P.S.: I *need* the chapter-that-never-was as soon as possible. Otherwise you'll be showered in compliments and odes to Shrub's mental skills.

Have I been gone?

Ah yes. Is every dabbling she'll write going to be about the Bloom? I mean, there are other things to write about, though one might not believe it judging from the numbers of Legolas-romances on ff.net.

Bush up to something - yes, it is possible. Probably something painful. For my mind, that is.

And what am I, your writing slave?

Mmm, well now that you mention it...ducks and runs

Yup, the imagination presumably is quite limited hence "let's fixate on LotR and teh Bloom" thing. Other things to write about? You mean about a fairy Endelambianneblahblah who meets Legolas with wild Elven sex right around the corner?

One does not sic Evil!Thranduil or Evil!Denethor on anyone. One gently requests that perhaps they using their mighty evil powers to go after certain targets.
