OFUM and future plots

In other news, having a temporary moment of 'where the hell was I going with this chapter?' with OFUM. I know I was going somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember where. I can either then take what I got already and take it somewhere else, or start a new chapter and push what I have written aside for when I do remember. Not sure which I'll go for yet. I think I need to read some more badfic to get me into a good writing rage. Things I'm planning on doing -

* Spawns of Sauron. The annoying 'daughter of evil' (he's an eyeball, people! he hasn't spawned any children lately) who often then is 'redeemed' by Legolas's love.

* Haldir

* Rape as a plot development

* A Day in Lord Elrond's Court

* Divinity in Middle-earth

* The 'Highschool in ME' fics (if I can do so without going into a fit of despair)

* Naming customs of ME (why Gwen is not a ME name, etc)

* More on propar combat

* Silmarillion history class

* Incest - nays and bigger nays

* Slash and human anatomy (among other things, why men do not have children, so Aragorn would not knock up Legolas)

* ME gender issues

* The art of plot holes

* A songfic chapter (yes. Live in fear)

And of course, the truth behind MUSM, Jess's brain's awakening, Kat's horrible discovery, Gollum's new precious, Legolas's grand plan, Lina's surprise, a declaration of war -

wait a minute. I think I just remembered where I was going. MUHAHAHAHA! [insert long, evil laughter]

I second the Silmarillion history class and the rape for plot development!!! (if I read one more story wherein someone gets raped and Legolas 'saves' them, I think I might just throw my computer off a cliff. Or hire someone else stronger to do it.)

I ran into one of those "Highschool in ME" badfics, if you want to read it for inspiration. It's called "Shire high an elves point of view", and you can read it here: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=763795

It's rather long, but truly cringe-worthy. "Li" is an elf who's been best friends with Legolas "since we were babies". So of course, after a failed relationship, she realizes she loves him. There's lots of parties, even a nightclub excursion, and a lot of "shire weed" smoking. She's one of those "independent spirit" Mary-Sues, and still manages to be perfect at everything she does. Not to mention that she gets in trouble in every-other chapter or so, the people around her are always getting attacked, and yet she still goes on like a normal teenager. It's bad.

Oooh. I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but my sisters and I love your writing, you're funny as hell. (Though I don't know why hell would be funny... you're funny as the thought of Aragorn giving Legolas tickle torture. Hee!) Anyway, I'm friending you, just so you know I'm not a random stalker. ;)

And good luck remembering where you were going -- that's not always easy, but I have faith you can figure it out! :D

Oh, I have read that one. I tried in vain to delete it from my mind forever, but alas, I cannot. And it has nearly 200 reviews. I weep, I really do. Who with a brain could possibly enjoy such a thing?

Any other news, I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Everything that you listed as needing to be addressed is great. Can't think of anything I've noticed that could be added, but if I think of something I'll surely let you know. :)

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how they think Sauron can reproduce. "Well, honey, when two flaming eyeballs really love each other..."
