Chapter Three of East of the Sun, West of the Moon is up. It's the promised Warrick POV. Chapter four shan't be too long in following. That'll be Grissom again, having erotic dreams and angsting. Sadly, I just realised that by setting the story in summer, I've taken away the joy it could have been having Sara and Grissom attempt to ski when in Norway. Drat my brain.

Well, Cam is short for Camilla, and Miss was something I added to make me sound less cutesy and more authoritarian for OFUM. It's kinda stuck with me.

Then came X-Men Movieverse, my first internet and fanfiction fandom, then LOTR and my first Magnum Opus fic, then Pirates of the Caribbean, then Harry Potter. And the Matrix and Chronicles of Riddick as well, though I never posted fanfic in them.

LoTR. I read the books when I was 10 or so but it took the movies to get me really interested. I reread the books after seeing the movies and was hooked. I write fanfiction because I hate Tolkien's style and I want to free the wonderful characters (Eowyn, Feanor, etc.). I know, I'm a terrible fanatic.

3. Tell me about one of your obsessions/fandoms: The one that is consuming me at the moment is Queer As Folk. It's beautiful, because the slash is canon and there is copious video footage of it. And it's snarky. I'm so addicted. Then there is Labyrinth. Kinda stepped out on that one for a while, though it is not dead.

3. Tell me about one of your obsessions/fandoms: When I was 10, I used to get up at 5am and watch TV just because there was something fun about being up that early and doing nothing before school. On Wednesdays, Chicago's Channel 50 (WPWR) would air some show called Bill Nye the Science Guy. Bill Nye's aim was to keep kids about the age I was interested in science, and as he was insanely funny and I already liked science, I became hooked. Unfortunately, the show went off the air and the only DVDs I can find are school teacher aids that cost something like $3000 (for the full set). Argh. But a friend tells me Bill Nye is coming out with a new show aimed for older people than kids that's less afraid of being controversial.

3. Tell me about one of your obsessions/fandoms: When I was in elementary school, I was obsessed with Animorphs for the longest time. It was an apparantly never-ending montly series of short chapter books about five kids who met an alien who gave them the power to aquire animal DNA through their skin and change into that animal. They used the power to fight an invading race of parasitic aliens, called Yeerks, that took over human bodies by wrapping around the brain and tapping into the memories and personalities of their human host. Indetectable, donchaknow. Can't tell you how many times I prayed that an alien would land in my yard and tell me I had to save the world by turning into my neighbor's dog. I mean, these kids were always getting tortured and missing sleep and getting grounded and having their asses handed to them, and I still would have given my left lung to fight the yeerk menace. It seriously took over my brain. I actually beat up another girl once for saying that the series was stupid. I was a horribly lost cause.
