The Pope is dying. And I find myself rather unmoved. I'm an atheist and the man has quite simply never meant anything to me. Thoug I am sad he has suffered. It will be curious to see who a new Pope will be, though.

ETA: He just died, apparently. May he rest in peace...

Speaking of deaths - Terri's death seems not to have ended the argument.
A VERY interesting report from BBC's US corrospondent (as a sidenote - creationist museum? I'd *pay* to see that and boggle in its insanity. And bring along my brother, who would probably start arguing with those people and I could watch.)
And then there's Tom DeLay's reaction. Am I wrong to want to sit on him until he shuts the smeg up?

Continuing on the sidenote -I must admit I find creationists - true, hardcore, Earth is 4000 years old creationists - widly fascinating. I didn't even know they existed until recently. That's what you get for growing up in little old Norway, I suppose. I admit to a very real desire to poke them with sticks. (I know. I'm cruel and will go to hell, where I will help torture Fred Phelps with burning forks.) They do seem to live in a world other than mine.

But I guess that can be said for us all. Power of the mind and the illusions we do make. But it must a very strong belief to fly in the face of that much science. I'm pretty impressed, really. And I really do want to see that museum so I can take pictures I can boggle at whenever I am bored.

April 1st passed without anyone fooling me (though some tried). GAFF seemed to have a giant big wank fool. Heh.
10 stories that could be April Fool's, but weren't
Norwegian April Fool's jokes (The most popular joke - moose in the garden - I remember mum once pulled on us while we were up in a cabin somewhere. And all bolted to see, of course, and mum sniggered "April Fool's". Only it was March 31st. Whoops.)

Cam is Hungry

Went on a mad CSI screencapping spree of my season 3&4 DVDs the other day. Huzzah, screencaps. Though I miss my photoshop, where maybe even me could have fun with graphics. Ah well. If anyone want any particular caps of said seasons, BTW, talk to the Cam. Bring episode name and scene. (I shall do season 1&2, so you can get in early there, too.)

I let you eat my brain because I'm nice. ^__^ And besides, it isn't as if there was much left anyhow. :P

It's interesting that while the Vatican condemns the Terri Schiavo case, they're still letting the Pope die. I mean, isn't it possible to put him in the hospital and stick tubes etc. et. in him and keep his body alive?

Argh, am I making any sense? I'm too tired to be sure that what I'm writing is legible. -_- It all made sense when I talked about it with my mum earlier today, but translating the thought in english is surprisingly hard. >_<

I think I can understand you perfectly. She wouldn't have been alive if they hadn't forced her to be. Keeping a body alive is not what I consider being alive.

No. Without a mind, the body is just flesh.

There is a limit to have much you can keep a body alive, though. He has organ failure, he's old, he has Parkinson's - Terri on the other hand was young and suffered brain trauma. You can't keep a brain alive without the body but you can keep the body alive without certain parts of the brain. So even if they wanted to keep the Pope alive, they wouldn't be able to forever.

But I see your point.

I'd type a better commentary but you've got my brain! Ugh... just when I was about to type that April's fools didn't work for me cause here it's on december 28th.

And Terri's case? I can't believe the gov. makes such a huge fuss on a case like there are millions, claiming her right to live and continues fighting in a country he atacked for no real reasons. Guess some lives are worth more than others...

I don't think all of those who claimed to fight for her really cared that much for her personally. She was just a handy symbol for political gain and the "pro-life" banner some of these people seem to want to kill for. (I'm sure some were genuinely touched by the situation Terri was stuck in, but some of them... Not so much.)

*shakes head* The whole thing is just depressing and sickening. The autopsy will probably not even shut some of these people up.

*restrains herself from more explosive ranting about Tom DeLay and all those*

Creationism is fascinating and scary in its ways... I used to try very hard to be one, but... well, let me say that few things make me doubt an idea more than when 99% of the arguments I see supporting it are ones I think are either too easy to argue or just too emotional. When they end with, "Evolutionism says that Life is a mistake!" (Er... a "mistake" implies there was someone else already alive to make that mistake...) or "Besides, doesn't it sound better to have been created by a loving God than...?" you start raising eyebrows.

Well... perhaps evolutionism can be just as emotional as Creationism... I mean, I myself personally find the idea that we were created and shaped by many, many random events to be very intriguing (and hey, this way we're distantly related to dolphins and cats)...

"To each her own," I'd say, but unfortunately, too many people don't respect that idea.

...I have just found out about the Pope....

Now Protestants will be speculating for three weeks about a religious leader that doesn't govern their church. Great. Just what I need to hear in the South. (I am a minority here.)

A CNN lady said a day ago that the Pope was "fighting for his life." I knew he was going to die because he went septic (a deadly infection). My grandpa went septic and died soon after.

T. rex—the real king of the beasts. That’s the terror that Adam’s sin unleashed!

That's just ... fantastic. ;)

This is completely not relevant to your post, but I was looking for your rant on spam and spammers. I couldn''t find it on your website, but I could also be going blind.

Thanks
