All About Cam and Elections

You can just about make out I'm wearing a Union Jack tanktop - in honour of the British election, of course.

You can see one of my three tattoos here, a tree.

Lovely banner ramsey made for me. I have a weakness for pretty graphics. *ogles*

As I'm writing this, Labour has already won over 200 seats and looks sure to claim a majority in the British election. Blair wins again. On one hand, I'm no fan of the Tories. On the other hand, I favour hard kicks in the bum of Blair's. Lib Dems seem to do all right so far and there has been some swings to the Tories. Elections are kinda exciting, at least to me. I like watching the votes be declared and all the maps and graphics. Of course, this is also an election year in Norway and I shall be casting my vote and giving old Bondevik the kick in the bum he has coming.
Norwegian politics can be somewhat boring, though. Our politicians don't insult each other in parliament or have smacking matches. And they even respect each other and often gets along. Shocking, innit?
So who wants to spoil me on the CSI ep airing in the US tonight?
ETA: *groan* Sometimes I get reviews that just... Review for OFUM, just arrived in my inbox:

Date: 2005-05-05 08:35 pm (UTC)Second, Norwegian politics sound terribly boring. I mean, no insult matches via the press? No kerfuffling on the Senate floor? And even Americans are amateurs compared to the Japanese. They've had brawls in Parliament! Do you have any idea how much I'd pay to watch Arlen Specter and Ted Kennedy go for two falls out of three? Actually, with those two, it'd be more like attempting a punch or two before succumbing to heart attacks, but that'd be fun, too.

Great Britain Blair - re-elected, second (or third, I lost count) term
Australia Howard - re-elected, third term
Has the earth's general population IQ gone down THAT much??

Date: 2005-05-06 09:01 am (UTC)I've just been urged in the ANSA newsletter to vote, even though I'm not studying in Norway. The annoying thing about Norwegian politics is that no matter who you vote for, they always seem to get together with other parties, which you don't like, to form the coalition government.
Strangely enough, that is the case of both parties I'm considering voting for this year. Though on opposite sides of the political divide. And the result... well, going with the lesser total evil. That means the politicians that annoy me the least. I'm shallow. I first vote on "least annoyance factor" and then I check out their politics. If I'm going to be stuck with someone for four years... well, they had better not annoy me much with talking about the election.
And Norwegian politics is boring. A fist fight or something? Or... you know... a threat to bomb Sweden, or something like that, to spice things up a little?

Date: 2005-05-06 01:26 pm (UTC)I voted in the last Stortingsvalg in Australia. That was an odd experience. I went to the Norwegian Consulat in Brisbane, run by a lawyer firm and no Norwegians. But they had a 'Norwegian' room where they did all the Consulat business and it was just stuffed with Norwegian stuff and felt like mini-Norway gone beserk.
Maybe we should start giving our politicans true holmgang. That would spice things up.

Date: 2005-05-07 04:34 am (UTC)I'll just step in while I'm in Stavanger, I think. Even though the embassy here in Copenhagen... could vote there.
Holmgang. I could be in favour of that.

Date: 2005-05-07 04:49 am (UTC)We could certainly do with better party leaders, me thinks.
We could make holmgang part of the election campaign. It would beat the hut invasion of Karl Johan hands down.
