Pimpage and Birthday Wishes
May. 20th, 2005 07:54 pmI shall hereby shamelessly pimp Locker Room Evidence, which is Ramsey's Catherine/Warrick site up with new layout and prettiness. I've helped out a bit, hence the pimpage. You'll find my C/W fics there, as well as screencaps I've done.
A bit fat whopping happy birthday wish for
adoralyna. May your days be filled with hot males and Nugatti. If you want a birthday drabble, just speak the word (and how you want it).
Whoa, CSI finale - I've only seen the clips available online, but some of them were just heartbreaking. Some of them were just odd. Trotter? Heh. Atill, Grissom&Sara being non-angsty and slightly flirty around each other is never bad. And the little Catherine&Warrick moment after Warrick's minor blow-up was nice. "I know you." Sniff. I wanted to hug Warrick so many times. And Nick, though not as much. I just don't connect with Nick the same. Still, even I was moved. Ugh, ants. I know the evilness of fireants. All in all, looks like a mixed bag, but the goodies seem worth it. Hodges. Kickassing. And poor Nick shall need much councelling, but so shall they all, I think. Which might make for interesting viewing in season 6. We shall see. "I want my guys back." Sniff. Meanwhile, there's fanfic. Well-written fanfic, ones hopes.
Have a headache from exam and general life-is-meh vibes. Top it off with rain and it's all very grey. But really, not every day can be great (shut UP, Inner Optimist). But tomorrow is Eurosong finale, which is one long snarkfest. That should cheer me up. (You poor, poor deprived Americans.) You can watch all the acts here (just click on the video button on the side).
Various news:
US anger at Saddam photos
Patterns in Iraqi violence?
America's dwindling coalition
Norwegian architect firm unveiled its design for Ground Zero Cultural Centre (I didn't even know they were involved in that. Hum.)
Build what you want with BBC page content (I'd leap on that if I had any sort of talent in the area, which I really don't.)

Date: 2005-05-20 11:52 am (UTC)It was seriously, mindblowingly good. One of the best season finales I've ever seen. It was so intense--and funny--and emotional. Superior story-telling, action, suspense and character driven moments. Sorry for the sentence fragments but it's all I can manage to sputter. :) I still don't think I've recovered from watching it last night.
And Nick, though not as much. I just don't connect with Nick the same. Still, even I was moved.
I know how you feel. I mean, I've never disliked Nick and he has his own niche and purpose in the show. His character meshes well with ensemble, but I never regarded him in an "OMG! He's such a good actor" light until last night. I was really impressed.
In fact, I was really impressed by all of them.
And one of the hightlights for me: Greg and Hodges playing the Dukes of Hazzard board game. It was so weird and funny and Tarantino, but it works well with those two characters. It's certainly one of the lighter moments that was necessary in such an intense episode.
I can't wait for you to see it. I hope you like it as much as I did.

As Thou Wishes, Birthday Gal. Adora/Frodo
Date: 2005-05-20 04:00 pm (UTC)Another day spent fighting fear and life and herself and she is tired, seeking the shades of sleep that filters life and offers refuge in her mind. And he comes to her dream, as he sometimes does, bringing the smell of spring in the Shire with him in her mind's Valinor. His skin is soft as he takes her hand, seeing the scars in her blood. Not all hurts leave marks visible, but he sees beyond her skin. He always does. She fears it, yet she seeks it.
He understands. He understands crawling across sharp rocks with the last ghost of strength, understands falling into darkness beyond the night where there is nothing but fear. Nothing but pain. Nothing but the call of your own death. Nothing but the Ring.
And as he survived, so has she. There is still life across the abyss.
His lap is soft and she closes her eyes, listening to the hum of wind and Elven song. She doesn't need to understand their words to feel their hope. Doesn't need him to be real to feel his courage.
One day, she will make it her own.
The dream will fade and she must fight on alone, but for now, she lets herself rest in him.
One day. But not tonight.

Date: 2005-05-20 03:48 pm (UTC)The CSI finale was absolutely mindblowing, and though I'm not a Tarantino fan, I was very impressed with what he did. "I want my guys back" makes me wonder what's going to happen in season 6, but I'm definately looking forward to it.

Date: 2005-05-20 04:06 pm (UTC):) Glad to hear you like my CSI ventures too.
I want to see the finale so bad. Seen lots of great clips and Tarantino seems to have done a good job being CSI-esque, though keeping some of his trademarks. I wouldn't mind him coming again.
I guess the split might be resolved next year, which could get interesting. I miss some of the old team interactions.

Date: 2005-05-20 04:18 pm (UTC):) I highly recommend seeing it as soon as you can, it's so amazingly good.
I miss some of the team interactions as well, especially some of the stuff between Nick and Greg, but hopefully things will be resolved to fans' satisfactions.

Date: 2005-05-20 04:27 pm (UTC)Well, I want to see it, but it won't air in Norway for ages. I'll probably get the DVDs when they come out.
*raises an eyebrow* Do I sense another slasher about, or do you just like their friendship?
I miss them all working on cases together, I do. Wah.

Date: 2005-05-20 04:36 pm (UTC)I enjoy their friendship, but I have been known to read the occasional Nick/Greg slash.
And I definately miss them working on the same case. The finale was so refreshing to watch, because everyone, including Ecklie (whom I hate), worked on the case to find Nick. I'm not a huge Nick fan, but this episode impressed me in terms of character for him. And we get to meet his parents, which is fun.

If you're getting too much rain, you can send it down here.

Greg/Hodges is my backup OTP. LOVED that Gil/Sara Trigger scene so much even though I had no idea what the were talking about + Warrick/Cath was cute, Warrick needs to be mad ALL THE TIME PLZ).

Date: 2005-05-21 03:07 am (UTC)What does it take to shake emotions out of Grissom these days, I wonder? Holding him upside down and wriggling?
Find angry Warrick hot, do you? I cannot fault you, alas. Mm, Warrick. be mad and shirtless at me.
