Civil partnership for gays now allowed by UK law

This makes UK join the club of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Canada (and some others I probably can't remember right off the bat) with this law. Welcome! I'm pleased you could join us. We're not a big club yet, but I have a feeling we will grow. Have some beer and join us at the bar.

I'm feeling much love for Britain these days. BBC and Doctor Who and gay marriages and football (now that the Norwegian season is over, I have to get my football fix elsewhere) and Pratchett and more. *huggles the British Isles*

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! In April I ruled Asscrackistan as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). In October I stole myshka23's purse (-30 points). In June I gave armeniel a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). In February I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last week I bought porn for blizzard4526 (10 points). It's called Lebenspartnerschaftsgesetz für gleichgeschlechtliche Lebensgemeinschaften here (or something along those lines in dreadful officialese *g*) and it doesn't feature adoption rights, but it is a civil partnership after all.

Oh, I read about them, but apparently, it's not quite in the same legal league as the others... There were some rights they didn't have. It's civil unions, but not quite 'partnerships', I read at BBC's. I guess it depends on your definitions. It's a recognition of gay relationship, at the very least.
