So, dear Americans on my flist, who among you can I welcome to the Who fandom? Come into the shiny. Mama Cam is here to welcome you.

Some helpful links for you:

Outpost Gallifrey - Biggest Who site out there. Wander with care, however, since it's UK centric (naturally) and might spoil you if you haven't been spoiled already. Forum there is full of Whovian fanboys, a breed all to themselves.

BBC's Doctor Who site - much, much to have fun with, including the Confidentials and a Dalek game. However, it is spoileriffic like whoa.

Teaspoon and an Open Mind - Who fanfic archive, for all incarnations of the Doctor. Tread with care. Badfic is about.

[livejournal.com profile] time_and_chips - the main Doctor/Rose shipping comm. For all your ship needs, and where you will bump into Cam.

Better With Two - a Doctor/Rose fansite. Fanfic, excellent gallery, fanart and other points of interest.

Doctor Who corner on YTDAW - if you're on YTDAW, this is where I and some of the people I've hooked already hang. Join, and I shall offer tequilas.

TWoP's Doctor Who corner

[livejournal.com profile] dwicons - for all your shiny needs. Can be a bit spoilery.

Cam's Doctor Who fic - There be spoilers. Oh yes. But the author's notes will tell you what it spoils for.

Any questions? Mama Cam is here for them.

*raises hand* I'm totally in love with the Doctor show. I can't wait for next week. I'm going to hold off on reading fanfiction and whatnot until I'm more familiar with it all though. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll be properly obsessed, I'm sure. ;)

Heh, no worries. The links aren't going anywhere ;)

Interesting episodes are ahead of you. Oh yes.

...I just realised how incredibly batshit my forums will be over the next few weeks.

I can't wait!

Be careful of spoilers now, unless you *want* to be spoiled.
From: [identity profile] gehayi.livejournal.com
Well, I've started reading your stuff, but I'll hold off on the websites for now and give myself time to become, as [livejournal.com profile] reia said, properly obsessed.

I am going to check out the icon community, though, because I NEED some Doctor Who icons.
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Hee. Yes indeed, that is a nice icon. There are lots of nice DW icons too, so go hunting.

It shouldn't take too much before you become properly obsessed, me thinks.

That should have been [livejournal.com profile] bitter_banshee, by the way. Not batter_banshee.

OMG, it is so good to finally know what half of the internets has been talking about. Also, I am so in love it's not even funny, though it kind of is because everything Who should be a little bit funny as well as angsty and I'm thinking about all of this way too much.

In conclusion, so much love for Doctor + Rose and Doctor/Rose and now I can't wait to get started on some fic.

Heh. Yes, we've been loving the Doctor for some time already. But we always welcome new ones to the fold - heck, was new myself last year.

:) They get cuter as it goes along. Also a little possessive at times. Mmm, angst.

I watched last night! Not fully hooked yet, but I'm very close. I think I need to watch a couple more episodes to make sure I catch on. It's a little overwhelming! Thanks for the links, the FAQs at the Outpost are very helpful.

Good to hear - and yeah, the style of Doctor Who can be a little different if you're not used to it. Make sure you watch some of the later episodes before you decide for sure - episode six and eight are the best, in my opinion.

Well, you already know I was hooked. Been so for a while now. :P
Of course, it was fun to sit down and actually see it on the TV. Wonder how it did, ratings wise?

Ooh...The newbies are in for some fun, aren't they?

They certainly are.

Let's hope they don't drive us mad in the process ;)

Right now I'm in the midst of March Madness, or else I would've watched it last night. Somebody had downloaded the first couple of episodes or so onto a cd after the UK premiering and sent it to my supervisor, so I've seen it that way, although the quality left something to be desired. But once the tournament is over, I'll start watching in earnest to see if I like this new Doctor. Peter Davison and Tom Baker were my favs back in the day. :)

And I'm still a bit irked that we (PBS affiliates) were played against the Sci-Fi Channel by the Who Powers That Be so that they could convince Sci-Fi to air the series. Sure, just ignore all the PBS affiliates that gave Doctor Who a home in the US for so very long, helping to build up the fanbase in the past...

Love the, "Run for your life!" line though that I'm seeing in the promos. :)

Ah, Five and Four. One of my friends got recently hooked on Five. She's trying to seduce me over too, heh.

Hope you enjoy when you do get to watch, at least :)

I'm thinking that if Duke wins the National Championship, watching a new Who episode at the end of the week just might be a nice way to celebrate. :) Or Carolina. :)

I made especially sure that I saw Doctor Who! It was very good. However, Mum didn't like the Ninth Doctor too much. She says the best Doctors are the ones with flaws. And she is old-school fangirl...from the 80's. :) I want more!

Oh, Nine is flawed. You'll find that out soon enough.

Glad you liked :)

My only question is why have I been made to wait so long for the new season to start?!

It's unbearable! They said it will return this spring...Spring is Monday...where is my Doctor!!!!???

I'm ok...I'm ok...

I quite like the acting, though. And the choice of casting.
That's probably my theatre/drama geek coming out, though.

I'm not new to the show, but I am relatively new to most of your fics. That in itself is very exciting *g*(especially since I need Nine fic after last night).

Any suggestions of where I should start? I might just glomp on them all...

From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
Heh, there's a tricky question. Most of them are readable, I think. But if I had to rec a few...

Song For Rose Most people seem to like it. It's a different sort of 'what if' story. Nine/Rose, definitely.

Never a Choice A different sort of threesome. Rose, Nine and Ten. Um, yeah.

Teatime for the Soul The darker side of Rose and Nine.

Measures of Time, part one and part two. AU after "Boom Town". The TARDIS plays a central part.

Like Riding a Bike Rose has a traumatic experience. Nine tries to help her heal.

*shrugs* You might like some of those. They're all listed in the main link, anyhoo.

As from my post, I got hooked from the fanfic. Now that they can be put in context, I say bring on the series! (And preferably, the DVDs. *Is ADD, but fangirly*)

I saw the cristmas episode and I fell in love. I can't watch the Goblet of fire without laughing at David Tennant, I keep remembering random lines of the cristmas episode. I only saw half of it, though and I haven't made much of an effort to track down more. It seems like a fun fandom, maybe i'll look into it.
