And now for the post with something of substance... Sort of.
geekfiction is holding a
smut-a-thon. Am tempted to sign up, even if I've been a bit blah about writing CSI fics of late. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Fic-a-thons are fun, unless the request you get is fairly hopeless. But most of the time you can get something fun out of it anyhoo. (Has
Doctor Who fandom had any, really?)
Then again, it sometimes also means more badfic. Sniff. I want goodfic. (I should get my ass in gear and write some myself. Hmm-hmm.)
Mum finally dragged me to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire yesterday. Was okay. The actors sure have sprouted quite a bit. (Neville is looking cute. Heh. I adore Neville. He's the only one I go 'no no' at the thought of dying.) Voldemort made me mostly yawn, though. Was not impressed. David Tennant was a nice Barty Crouch jr, even if I kept waiting for him to knock Snape out with the sonic screwdriver.
I also saw Narnia recently. Nostalgia deluxe. But it was okay. Quite enjoyed it, even with Marius whispering in my ear during the whole final battle about how wrong the tactics were and how you'd really win that battle and so forth. Tumnus was just adorable. Very good talking animals too. Shall definitely cough up the money for the DVD when the time comes.
Cat Calls 911?Phenomenon spotted in Oslo and elsewhere in Norway today -
looks like three suns shining down. It's ice crystals up in the troposphere breaking the sunlight that does it. Pretty neat, eh? And meanwhile, the setting sun is making the snow almost look faint purple here. Beautiful.
There are days when I really, really love this planet of ours.
