Obvious reason for being up at 6 a.m. -- heat-induced insomnia. A good reason? None I could think of, says this non-morning person. Really none.

What is a good reason to get up at six a.m in your view?

In my boring case, work. I don't need to get up that early just to go to work, but watching an episode or two of Angel before going to work would justify the insanity. (Also shagging Spike would be an added bonus.)

But I'm a morning person and I'd rather get to go home early than sleep in. (Unless it's with Spike.) :P

I've been getting up at five AM every day this summer except for two of them for work. If there is a good enough reason for a person to be awake that early besides making money, I have yet to find it.

It's 1:01 am here in Florida and it was 91F/33C here today so don't TALK to me about hot! I'm not used to it here yet, even after five years.

We just hunker down in our air conditioning and wait until September. The good news was that the ocean water was 85F/29C yesterday and it was like being in a bathtub. There was even a family of dolphins who swam by and scared all the tourists.

Why up at 6:30 am? In my case it's usually because I have a cat digging at my head with his claws because he thinks he should be getting breakfast. I'm not even allowed to go back to bed, he'll get me up again even after I've fed him.

I'm pwned by a cat!

Well, since I can't go with shagging David Tennant, I'll have to go with competions. I'm definately not a morning person by any account, and absolutely nothing will get me up before the lastest possible time except for the promise of spending all day throwing a 12lb ball at things while stuffing my face with sugar-filled goodies, and possibly winning money and shiny things for it.

A reason that happens slightly more often would be that if I come in late one more day this semester I'm going to have a dalek set on me.

Good reason for getting up at 6am

Driving to Manchester airport to pick up cousin who I haven't seen in 20 years and watching the look on my uncles face (he's not seen her for 2 years) when she walked through from arrivals.

Don't you love arrivals at airports, the end scene in "Love Actually" always brings a lump to my throat, all those people so happy to see each other!

Hmm, good reasons to get up at 6am...

1) If you miss seeing the opposite season's constellations & stars. I always want Orion when it's Scorpio, though not so much vice versa...
2) Starting out on some kind of exciting trip.
3) For communication, if it's the only time you and a distant loved one's time zones & schedules coincide.

...though I'm not sure any of those really do suffice in Melbourne's current morning temperatures. I do *not* like being able to see my own breath while getting dressed, thankyouverymuch!

(Now, a good reason for *waking up* at 6am might be so you can roll over and go straight back to sleep. That's always lovely. *g*)

to me, a good reason to get up at 6am is that it's an hour more sleep than getting up at 5am gives me, which is currently when i am forced to raise my poor carcass from the dead and zombie shuffle off to work each morn. and this after retiring at 2am, as i am currently doing a full culinary school load in the evenings on top of full-time work. D:
