Doctor Who getting cancelled again. By Russell T Davies, who has decided if he can't be boss, no-one can.

And, before it vanishes off-air, having a series finale where the Doctor out and out declares his love for someone. Who isn't Rose. Whilst in bed with them.

And it's the Master. And Martha as well. And she looks notably pregnant.

And the very last scene is a rocks fall everyone dies ending, thus killing off the possibility of spin-off media, or another restarting. (At least for a decade or so).

Doctor Who is definitely the series getting cancelled, with the Doctor eloping to Utah with Reinette, Martha, Jack and the Master to get married but not before having a five minute monologue about how much he really really did not love Rose, ever and he is pregnant with the Masters baby.

The West Wing is a bit harder but, wait I know. Josh dumps Donna in favour of a hot foursome with Mandy, Amy and Cliff Calley while Sam, Toby and Jed run off in to the sunset together and CJ becomes a stay at home mum with bad hair.

CSI: Sara is dead. Grissom killed her after he realised she had kept him drugged for the past season. Then Grissom runs off with Lady Heather, even though Catherine has come out and declared her undying love for him and begged him to stay.

Uh... Kyou Kara Maou is complete animewise, and I will not speak of the novels because they have traumatised me for LIFE (plus hardly any of them are translated yet, so most of the fandom's anime-based anyhow) buut... Yuuri and Wolfram breaking their engagement. With bonus het on Yuuri's side. (Although I'm not sure of a wankopalypse so much as a unified "we haet the creator, go die!". I'm skipping Doctor Who also, because just about anything I could come up with has probably already happened on the show, and because I can't think after reading those posts.

Firefly, however... Fox revives the show and throws millions at it. All the original cast are signed on, the critics are waiting with pens poised, and the fans are practically eating themselves with anticipation. There's just one change - it's not going to be directed by Joss Whedon.

It's going to be directed by George Lucas.

The fallout would probably begin before they started making episodes again.

They've already "killed" Starbuck, made four ridiculous Cylon choices and fast-forwarded a year out of nowhere, so that would probably be the last thing left. This one only has the bonus of driving the old-school fans out of their minds.

When Sara is brought to the hospital, it is discovered that she is actually a MAN. Everyone is shocked, particularly Grissom, who apparently isn't all that schooled in human anatomy. He is distraught, and runs into the arms of Lady Heather, who whips his ass raw while Catherine cries outside in the rain. Sara, who is now all alone with her scars and her dog and her penis, wallows in her house until Nick and Greg show up for a gay orgy.

Also Warrick switches over to the dark side, becoming a serial killer known only as "The Chest." Suspicion initally falls on Catherine for obvious reasons, but as the team begins to close in on Warrick, suddenly Brass acknowledges a longtime lust for Ellie...

My main fandom is LOTRiPS and the only thing I can think of would be if Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen called a press conference and announced that yes, they really are lovers and have been since New Zealand. [wry smile] The fannish explosion would be incredible. Although even then, I don't think it'd match the Potterdamerung because there wouldn't be the long, drawn-out anticipation that there is with the last book and fifth movie coming out so close together. Potter fans have been anticipating the last book for years and that extended time has allowed it to build up to the boiling point. I don't think any "Hey, surprise!!" type occurrence in any other fandom could be as big.

I was only in LotR fandom - but the actor shipping part of fandom already reached dizzying heights of wankery with the Tinhats. I suppose if Dom and Elijah went out and said they had indeed been secret lovers all along and forced into the closet by PR, the wankery would rival a supervolcano letting loose.

You're probably right that the waiting has added to the HP thing, yeah. All that time makes people speculate and think and convince themselves they are right.
