Bush to visit Australia, fails to notice they have a free press
Ain't that bloody nice of him? After all, only the US media could possibly be allowed to ask questions, because they're the only ones who actually count, aren't they Mr. Bush? Australian journalists aren't even allowed anywhere near His Presidental Highness (but American journalists are, of course).
Even the *Chinese* President (who shall also visit) is actually giving the Aussie media a chance to ask questions, for crying out loud.
So glad I'm not in Australia right now. Also very glad Norway is not important enough for Bush to come visit. Let's hope he doesn't even know we exist...

Date: 2003-10-24 11:52 pm (UTC)I have several good friends who are American (even some who support Bush), and there are many decent, kind and smart people in your country. I hope I have enough sense to never forget that. Just as I would never pin the actrocities of Nazi Germany on the large population of Germans who were not supporters of the regime. Or blame Saddam's foulness on the ordinary Iraqi.
And Bush certainly has the money to get reelected. It's kinda sad when a candaidate's winner chances are actually related to the amount of money he has gathered. That is more Moneycracy than democracy to me. Oh well... One can only hope.
