This is from the draft of the next OFUM chapter - and it sort of includes an anal sex joke. My question is - is it a bit much? OFUM does have a PG-13 rating.





“One of these days I shall wrap that sword in tinfoil and leave it in my sauna to rust,” Túrin muttered darkly. “The class will commence in a few minutes, students. You better hurry, or I will give you something to really angst over.”

“What is up his bum?” Kat asked as the group of students all dropped their buckets and started making their slow way towards lecture hall three.

“In my head, it’s Beleg,” Vulgarweed said dreamily.

“Ew,” (student) replied, shuddering visibly. “Is that all you slashers think of?”

“Is Legolas all you Legolas Lusters think of?”

“Well, yes, but…”

“And does not what you want to do to Legolas make King Thranduil go ‘ew’?”

“No,” (student) said defensibly. “He didn’t say ‘ew’, he tried to drown me in the moat.”


ETA: It's a draft, hence why the students haven't been named yet.

Nah, it's fine. Quite tame for what people think thirteen-year olds can see these days. Besides, thirteen-year olds wouldn't understand OFUM enough to get this far. I don't think. And if they are, then certainly they're mature. And again, it's not as bad as the whole dwarf's stamina joke in the first OFUM.

Seriously, just think back to when you were 13 years of age or younger.

Kids can handle such things. They can read more graphic sexual elements in books and handle it without subservice results.

Kids are not twits... they can handle more than what most people think.

Oh, I think it's fine! Just innuendo shouldn't merit you an R rating, and most 13-year-olds already know about anal sex anyway (at least the kind who read fanfiction, I think). Anyway, it's funny! :)

Speaking as a 13 year old... it's perfectly fine. It is PG-13, if people can't handle such innuendos then they should read PG or less.

Personally, I got what you were talking about, but I'm not an "average" 13 year old.

Oh, you have to keep it Miss Cam, it's way too funny a bit to cut;-). It's not offensive at all, and any 13'er will either get it, or it will go completely over his/her head. After all, it's hard to corrupt those who aren't already corrupted;-).

I'm teaching four different gorups of 13-14-year-olds. Based on my experience, I'd say your hint is too elegant for the average to even understand. And those few who do, have honed tastes already. ;)

It's fine, I think. In fact, I'm pretty sure that when it's all put together, it'd be hard for those who wouldn't understand it to even notice it. It's just a little mention, easy to miss if you don't get it.

Being one who had to have her gay guy friend literally sit her down at the "tender" age of 17 and have the whole...er...process explained to her (in quite clear detail mind you) this is so mild it's nutty. I would not have got the joke at 13, after all, I checked my first ever slash story because I thought Legolas was going to kill Frodo by slashing him with his knives and thought it an interesting twist...14 months later and I still haven't recovered. Though I am a slash person...just that pairing...*frowns* really, it's just plain and utterly wrong.

Keep the scene, it's even more mild than the dwarf innuendo of the First year...seeing as that was easier to picture for most. Note: 'Most'!

Speaking as a thirteen year old, I have to say this: If nobody had said anything, I probably wouldn't have really noticed it. I would have just dismissed it as one of those things you're going to find at OFUM.

I don't really care either way, so long as the next chapter gets up relatively soon...please?

me either...my friend, who's 14, just wrote an NC-17 fic...slash. I've lost my innocence, so this'll be like a walk in the park. Of course, I probably corrupted aforementioned friend with referrences to chocolate-dipped Legolas.
