For the BBC

Click here to find out why.

I believe the BBC did make a serious mistake with the David Kelly affair, but nevertheless, journalism will be poorer without the BBC. I bow to it.

And it seems trouble is stirring in the Kurdish parts of Iraq, and all I can think is 'ohshitohshiohshit'. The Kurdish reaction to the recent horrid attacks. It's particulary this quote that troubles me: "These attacks not only strengthen our demands for independence, they force us to make it a reality."

This is not good. Not good at all.

Ack!

That is not just one country going "Oh No". The poor Kurds are spread across three different countries (Iran, Iraq and Turkey - but you knew that) and they have a tough time in all three.

Oh, I know. And I understand their desire for a land of their own, for Kurdistan, all too well.

But I fear their attempts to get it will lead to great bloodshed and perhaps even civil war. I fear that a great deal. And the region is strained enough as it is.

I have always trusted the BBC (for I had the impression for more than 20 years that they took the difficult business of journalism for serious and did their best not to desinform the public).

It is a remarkable sign for the hysteria of times, where honest facts are not accepted and politicians only create their own legends to have an excuse to start wars...ALAS!

One other thing:

I'm not sure if you received my email, therefore I "spam" here: The first eight chapters of OFUM are translated into german and have moved to my site (www.cuthalionsbogen.de), together with a Download version. The first chapter has already been read by more than 30 people (according to the statistics), and I wish you an audience as big and as enthusiastic as you already have...

And what, pray tell, does this have to do with the BBC and the Kurds?
