Light angst and light updates
Sep. 7th, 2004 03:28 amChapter five of Nocturne is up. Legolas tells Thranduil about Gimli and there is angsting.
Speaking of angst - Camilla has a cold. There is much woe and self-pity and sticking of tissues up the nose. She promises to return to her normal, angry-at-Bush-and-curious-about-the-world-while-ogling-hot-men self as soon as the germs bugger off.
Meanwhile, you can advantage of Cam's fever sick brain and lure the truth out of her. Meme spotted at
shiplizard. Leave a comment with your name if you want to know what I really think of you, and I'll reply and tell you. No lies, all honesty.
You can do the same in your LJ, of course.

Date: 2004-09-06 07:59 pm (UTC)That said, I wasn't always comfortable with everything you did during those days (nor with what I did, for that matter) and I feel sometimes you get too involved in an idea and don't let go. I also find you funny, capable of laughing at yourself and easy to talk to, even if we seem to have drifted a bit apart since the heydays of tiger growling.

Date: 2004-09-06 08:13 pm (UTC)You share one of my all-time highest sci-fi loves, but alas, the wrong pairing. But I forgive you anyway, because I like you. I'm not always that interested in your various LJ entries as I feel they don't relate to me and too much lyrics or poems tend to make me skim with haste. And I'm not too fond of your LJ colour. But you're nice and have yet to try to make me 'see the light' or in other ways bug me. even if we share different world views. Thus you're agreeably likable.

Date: 2004-09-06 08:28 pm (UTC)You're a rambler, for good and ill. It can be too much sometimes, but there is something good-natured about your ways. We haven't known each other that long, so I've yet to really fix an opinion of you, but it's generally a feeling of goodwill. I don't think we'll ever be the closest of friends, but we'd get along reasonably well.

Date: 2004-09-06 09:04 pm (UTC)I'm afraid I hideously tend to confuse you with other PPC people. But when my memory does not fail me, I tend to picture you with Bjam. You seem to angst over teenage troubles as she does and I do occasionally want to smack you lightly with a herring. But you can snark and you sometimes post Sarah McLachlan lyrics (my teenage companion), which occasionally makes me think of you as a young me.

Date: 2004-09-07 07:19 am (UTC)Hmmm. I'm not sure how well we actually know each other. We sort of wander in the same circles, but I don't think we've spoken that much mano a mano. You seem a sensible and well-adjusted person, share my Bush hate and seem to prefer silver to gold just as I do. I tend to skim your memes and am not that terribly interested in pharmacy, but your posts on writing tend to make me pause and read (even if I happen to disagree). And recently, what happened in Beslan made me feel a great deal of pity for you, your countrymen and those directly affected. (That doesn't change the fact that I feel the Russian government has done its share of nastiness in the whole Chechnya mess.)

Okay.... Anne, aka. norwegianne.

Date: 2004-09-07 07:28 am (UTC)Jaha, kjære landskvinne... You're one of the few Norwegians I know online and thus get all my Norway jokes, which in itself is enough to get you liked. You're also studying to be a librarian, which my mum is. You like Nemi and Bush-mocking, which is all good. I'm not as interested in Buffy as you are and thus can get bored if you ramble on about that too much and I can't belive you're going to danishfy Norwegian. Hmpf. Traitor. But aside from that, it's all happy feelings, O Second-in-command. And anyway, us Norwegians must stick together. Especially when we're evil and brunettes.

Date: 2004-09-07 08:01 am (UTC)You're really another one of the people who are in the same circle as me and we bump into each other without ever having been on terribly intimate terms. We share a lot of opinions and seem to have the same disdain for Bush and you're one of the people who do actually post about various happenings in the news in your LJ, which I also do and enjoy reading about more than the various happenings of a hyper mind. I don't think we've ever clashed on anything, but we haven't really bonded that much either. I say we're destined to be aquintances until (or if) we drift out of each other's online spheres.

Date: 2004-09-07 08:21 am (UTC)We have actually talked now and then, I think, and you do bring back fond memories of Australia with your various LJ entries (ah, Rove...), but I do get the sense you're a bit younger than me sometimes. Sometimes you post stuff that interests me, sometimes not. You like Love Actually and hate BadFic and really, I've never had any reason to dislike you and thus I tend to have feelings of goodwill towards you.
Colds do indeed suck. But flus are worse. I remember the Aussie flus.

Date: 2004-09-07 08:29 am (UTC)Let's see then miss-not-really-Jo. Well, we do manage to get along despite our various different standings in life and even toss mock-insults at each other without it getting nasty. We seem to read and watch alot of the same stuff and thus have stuff to chat about that will not lead to whale lobbing each other(unless we want to). You do tend to wander offline for periods of time and thus contact have been somewhat erratic at times, but you are one of the people I do genuinly enjoy having a conversation with. And that, let me tell you, is not always the case with all those who chat to me.

Date: 2004-09-07 08:36 am (UTC)We've had some serious mind-scarring conversations on AIM, but they've usually been great fun. You're a Brit and thus have grown up with British humour as I have. When we chat, I tend to forget you're actually seven years younger than me or so, which is a great accomplishment. We read a lot a lot of the same stuff and seem to orbit the same planets of opinions on many issues. I wish I had been as sensible and funny when I was your age. Alas, I was not.

You feel like my online neighbour - we sometimes argue about whose lawn is the prettier, but we will unite against all the other not-as-great neighbourhoods. And you like Animaniacs. We don't share every interest, but we have enough in common to get along, except for when we're fighting the good 'ole Norway vs Sweden fight.

Date: 2004-09-07 09:00 am (UTC)Let's see - you've been around my LJ a bit longer than many of these young grasshoppers, but I'm not sure how well we know each other. You do seem to have an active Real Life and sometimes post the kind of angsting entries I'm not terribly fond of. On the other hand, you don't commit the evils of random, hyper postings. I find your English and writing very impressive from what I know first-hand of the pains of English-as-a-second-language. You're the kind of person I think I would like if I knew better, but that really hasn't happened.

Date: 2004-09-08 06:50 am (UTC)I seem to recall you going back a while on the OFUM list, though I could be wrong (my memory for names is terrible). We share a shipping interest in common (G/S! Whee) and you seem pretty smart and together, but I think we really only have conversations about interests in common and don't know each other too well. But you do strike me as the kind of person that would probably me in my circle of acquintances if we'd gone to same Uni. (And hey, I have a Bishop of Trondheim on my mother's side waaaaaay back, so we both have bishops in the family.)

Date: 2004-09-08 07:03 am (UTC)Well, as you know, I'm not one for great study of music (I know what I like and listen to, but I tend not to think much about it or write about it) which means my brain has a tendency to simply skip some of your LJ entries. And you hate a movie I adore. Tsk. But you're fun to mock-insult, you don't seem to take yourself too seriously and I find you good-natured. I don't know if we have enough in common to be particulary close friends, but I think we get along well enough.
