Am now home-home for Christmas, staying with the parents. Only annoying thing is that the computer here doesn't really take AIM and MSN. Oh well. My broadband was installed at my flat yesterday, which should be good. Though it seems to be acting kinda dodgy and slow. Might be my laptop, though. Bah.

Am hoping to get some writing done while here and perhaps some grieving. I haven't really dealt with the recent loss of my grandfather with everything else that was going on. A bit of silence and peace will be good. For the muse and the knot in my head. I'm one of those people who tend to deal with emotions quietly on my on. It's partly a Norwegian thing, I think. In many ways, we are a solitary breed of people.

Faramir/Éowyn plotbunnies are being quite persistent. My mind is such a fickle thing. It always wants to move onto new things. I really should teach it patience. It could be a New Year's Resolution.

Or maybe not. Fickle minds have the most fun.

I am sorry for your loss...you always have everyone on msn and lj's sympathies for such things.

*smiles a bit*

And how are your stories coming along. The Fariwyn bunnywabbits and Lord Babylon experiment?

Hope things turn out good. You getting snow yet? I heard of a nice bit of fall recently...all we have here is frost, ice and cold.

Haven't really worked much on the stories, apart from fragmented bits here and there. Been to preoccupied, alas. Am hoping to change that.

We got a tiny, tiny bit of snow yesterday, but the nasty storm heaidng our way may very well rain it all away. Wah.

Take your time with your grieving. I wrote a tale about the death of my father about three weeks ago; he died 1995. I wrote it in english (as an exercise and perhaps to keep a certain distance), but I wrote it for my mum who doesn't speak english at all... and when I sat there, half of the translation done, I suddenly read a german sentence aloud and burst into tears. And again, my father is nearly 10 years dead now.

I love good Faramir/Éowyn-tales. And I adore your icon.

Parents are harder to lose than grandparents most of the time, I'd imagine. The bond isn't quite as close. Then again, one often loses grandparents when a child, and dealing with death when young isn't always easy. Then again, is it ever?

It's a very pretty icon. Which is why I snagged it. Faramir and Eowyn really are my OTP from when I first read the book. And they're canonical!

No, it isn't. Never.

And it is wonderful that Éowyn and Faramir are indeed canonical, isn't it. BTW - should you find the time (and would like ) to read a Faramir/Éowyn-tale I wrote, you will find it here.

Have a peeaceful Christmas time, Camilla.

You too.

I did actually read your story briefly. Quite nice, but the ending felt a bit odd. Might just be me, though.

Aw. Sorry about your loss. :(

It's partly a Norwegian thing, I think. In many ways, we are a solitary breed of people.

This is quite true from my experience. It's a rather good way to be, IMHO.

Yes, but I do sometimes think we overdo it. But no breed of human is perfect and we all have our weaknesses alongside our strengths.

*nod* It can be frustrating to those who love you people. Heh.

As for Canadians, a lot of them seem to be passive complainers- they whine, but don't really do anything about it. And they elect the godforsaken Liberals every year.

Heh. Maybe they just like to whine for the heck of it? If I lived next door to Bush, I'd be a-whining. Hell, I live across the ocean from him and I still whine!

True. It also may have something to do with our miserable weather drilling it into people that they *will* be subjected to unplesant circumstances, and yet, there will be nothing they can do about it.
