This is one reason I love the Brits
There's even icons. Why, oh why am I not British and thus able to use the tea one? Brilliance, pure brilliance.
I think Hitler would have a few words for al-Qaeda - "I tried for five years, you bastards, and they're still drinking tea and you think one day is going to do it?! STFU, n00bs."
I'm suddenly imagining "Historical Figures Who Took On Britain's al-Qaeda STFU Hour" - Napoleon, Hitler, the Spanish Armada...
I think I need to drink my morning tea.

Date: 2005-07-10 06:53 pm (UTC)And to my eternal shame, I have not yet seen Little Britain, despite my professed eternal love for British humour.

Date: 2005-07-10 07:01 pm (UTC)Yes - I watched La Femme Nikita mainly for the Nikita/Michael-ness and I generally have a ship or two in any TV show I watch. I'm generally not very fanatical about them, I just think it nice if they'd happen.
I know, I know, I must see it. I'll get it on DVD eventually. I'm still collecting The Office and I'm getting Fawlty Towers first, though.

Date: 2005-07-10 07:13 pm (UTC)Ah, LFN. I love that show. I've never seen season 1 though, and only bits of 2,3 and 4. I wish they'd release the DVDs to region 2. I tend to get rather fanatical about different 'ships at different times, but never all at once. Think I'd go crazy if I did!
Well, I'm equally shamed, because I'm British and I've never seen The Office. Bits of it, yes, whole episodes, no. Fawlty Towers, though, now that's a classic!

Date: 2005-07-10 07:24 pm (UTC)I've seen pretty much all of LFN except the very last eps. Annoying. Some of the early eps are very good and of course, toally nekkid Michael is very good.
I was very fanastical about some of my ships when I was younger (Mulder&Scully for one), but age seems to have mellowed me. Hmmm.
Tsssssk. The Office is a must-see. Though it's not quite Fawlty Towers. "Don't mention the war!"

Date: 2005-07-10 07:54 pm (UTC)Ah, Mulder&Scully. Loved them. Then Doggett&Reyes came along and something weird happened. My love shifted to them. I was one of the few who adored them. Still adored Mulder and Scully, but to me season 9 was the Doggett&Reyes season, and I was happy with that.
Heeeeeee. Fawlty Towers rules. I'll have to check out The Office!

Date: 2005-07-10 08:11 pm (UTC)See, by season 9 of X-Files, my attention had moved on somewhat (I was a fan early on, so I had been watching it a while). I've yet to see most of that season, though I did watch the end. I am slightly fickle at times, which almost might explain why I don't get too fanatical. Heck, I was away from CSI fandom two years. I should smack myself. Fickle, fickle, fickle...
Yes... I don't suppose you've watched Red Dwarf?

Date: 2005-07-10 08:18 pm (UTC)Ah, see I only came into the X Files fandom with the movie. I think I managed to convince my mum to rent it when we were in Blockbuster (video rental place) and from then I was hooked. Wasn't allowed to watch it before that!
I waivered from CSI in season 3, I must admit. I never stopped adoring it, I just stopped watching it. If that makes any sense. I still set the video for it, and caught up later on, but at the time I think I was pissed at the way the Grissom character was going, and I hated Hank, and I wanted Sara to be like season 1 Sara. Or something.
Now that's another show I've never seen! My friend loves it, I really should watch it sometime.

Date: 2005-07-10 08:42 pm (UTC)When you came in at that stage, XF probably still felt new, so easier to keep watching till the end. I was feeling it run out of steam and was a bit unhappy with how M&S were dealt with, sweet though it was.
Heh, that's when I wandered off too - I moved back to NOrway, which was way behind in eps, spoilers didn't much excite me... And suddenly, I was away. Came lurking back before Christmas on the whispers of C/W.
You must see Red Dwarf. I would love Britain forever just for making that.

Date: 2005-07-11 03:27 pm (UTC)I was intially against the introduction of Doggett&Reyes, and wasn't happy with how M&S were dealt with either. In my opinion they should've ended M&S in season 7 just without the abduction and the weird pregnancy. That would've been good. But seeing as they did bring in D&R as a continuation not as a replacement, I get upset when people are so horrible about them. If you introduce new characters you shouldn't just throw them to the side when you get the old ones back. Ahem. This may be my bitterness about the possible second movie coming out and the supposed lack of D&R in it.
Ah, C/W. I fear we're being played with them too, though. You never can trust these writers, you really can't. :(
I shall try to check it out sometime!

Yeah, I know, but I am an eternal optimist, so I can't help but hope for good C/W. And if not, there's always fanfic.

Date: 2005-07-11 05:46 pm (UTC)I used to be, unfortuately CSI seems to have made me a cynic. I like your optimism though; C/W shall prevail! And yes, there will always be fanfic.
