A Lot of Bugger and Some Delicious Doctor
Oct. 1st, 2005 10:55 pmBali again.
Oh, bugger. Bugger, bugger, bugger. Fuck.
No wonder we all get so involved in our little distractions. It keeps us from screaming too much when the world sucks.
Speaking of little distractions... I'm vaguely writing Doctor Who fic. This is so not good. I feel myself wandering towards a new little obsession. Whoops. And I have so many CSI projects running and now I wanna write the delicious Doctor instead. And almost-Canon threesome. And Daleks.
Did I mention I'm fickle and get distracted by new shinies?
I need Doctor Who chat friends. And more pretties. And the DVD set when it comes out.
When you see this on your flist, quote yourself
"Knowing something can happen is not quite the same as being prepared for it. (...)
I fear for Australia. I fear for Norway. I fear that this new fear will inhabit us all for a long, long time and slowly change us.
One day we might think it has always been this way. Perhaps it has. Perhaps we have always been scared, but now our fears are realised."
Pick someone on my f-list that you know or you've seen around and comment here with something you like about them. It can be everything from admiring their username to an entire essay on how great they are spilled over my journal comments. When you've done this, post this meme into your own journal.

Date: 2005-10-01 10:17 pm (UTC)I'm sure I could give the series a chance - I do like the music, I don't know if it is the end or theme song - my kind of sci-fi though is "Red Dwarf", "Star Trek" and "Babylon 5" type series.

Date: 2005-10-01 10:59 pm (UTC)But this new one, I do like. And I am also a Red Dwarf and Babylon 5 gal, with some Star Trek on the side.
I can't really see why so many women like the new Doctor...
Date: 2005-10-01 11:57 pm (UTC)Is there an OFUDW? Because if there is, they'd better have Mini-Daleks. With Rsoe and the Dotor and Captain Jcak and...
stycaptain, who wishes very much that Doctor Who would come back on. The new series, not the old one.
Re: I can't really see why so many women like the new Doctor...
Date: 2005-10-02 12:56 am (UTC)Admittedly, being my brother doesn't help that much either, since he's quite sick of me gibbering about the Doctor by now.Re: I can't really see why so many women like the new Doctor...
Date: 2005-10-02 05:45 am (UTC)Besides, it's not all about looks. There is also the mmm-mmm factor of personality, brains and charm. Whic all adds up to something very, very delicious. *drools some more*
There is no OFUDW, sadly.
Hnnph.

Date: 2005-10-02 09:10 am (UTC)And if you think Ecclestone is droolworthy, then I'm sorry but Captain Jack will blow your socks off! :D I know Ecclestone from too many other TV things to find him sexy, though he was/is a very charming Doctor (and the best one in an age).
There is talk that K-9 will be back in the new series (with David Tennant as the new Doctor! Which is fantabulous news! I remember K-9 from the first time round - he was the robot companion to Tom Baker's Doctor.
Did you see that link to the Doctor thread on TWC I left for you, btw?
*is looking forward to your fic as and when it's done* Oh, and what think thee of the episodes you've seen? And which episodes have you seen?

Date: 2005-10-02 10:23 am (UTC)And I have seen Jack and I prefer the Doctor. Haven't seen the actor in anything else, really, so he does just fine as delicious Doctor, thank ye.
Saw the link, haven't really had time to read much of it, though. I've been writing fic. Shall now post. Very exciting.
I never saw K-9, but ought to be fun.
I've seen a few more now. "The Unquiet Dead", "The Long Game", "Father's Day", "The Empty Child", "The Doctor Dances", "Parting of the Ways." I'm waiting on "Dalek." Mmm, Daleks.

Unfortunately, I haven't got a chat messenger, but if you squee about Doctor Who in your journal, I will be listening. And joining in the squee. :D
I spent my week-end hiding from several unpleasant RL things (like Bali, amongst others) at my laptop, watching 13 episodes of the new Dr Who series in three or four days, and then starting with the "best of"-bits all over again. And I think I've now got a crush on both Christopher Eccleston and the scriptwriters. But especially on Christopher Eccleston.
And the DVD set is so on my Christmas wishlist.

Well, I don't know

Date: 2005-10-03 12:08 pm (UTC)Been doing some of the same myself, though I'm not quite through all 13 eps yet. But what I have seen so far, I utterly adore. And Christopher Eccleston is such a great Doctor. I intend to squee a lot about him, oh yessss. And write fanfic. Already did one, and have started another.
It's on my wishlist too, oh yes. Want! Shiny!
