Dear CSI fandom,

Gofia? GOFIA? GOFIA? For my sanity, I implore you - think about what you name your 'ship. Grillows? Gofia? Hillbillies? What's next, Gnick? Brick? GrGr?

Incidentally, (some) Grillows shippers, Lindsey is not Grissom's child. Despite perhaps certain trick plots designed to make you think so, CSI is not a soap. Lindsey will not turn out to be Grissom's after years of mistaken paternity and thus be the catalyst for Grissom and Catherine to have hot, kinky sex under his desk. Fanfic it till death if you want, but don't try to preach it as Canon when there isn't even the vaguest hint of it.

(Translations for the sane: Gofia=Grissom/Sofia, Grillows=Grissom/Catherine Willows, Hillbillies=Cath/Nick, Gnick=Greg/Nick, Brick=Brass/Nick, GrGr=Grissom/Greg.)

Incidentally, I'm now seeing other fandoms. I'm sorry. You just don't have a sonic screwdriver.

****

Dear Doctor Who fandom,

try not to wank, okay? You're very shiny and new and I want us to continue this glorious honeymoon of ours just a little bit longer. I'll wear lace and bat my eyelashes at you, I promise.

****

Dear HP fandom,

*boggle*

How's that 'less insanity' diet going for you, really?

****

Dear LotR fandom,

I could take a trip in the TARDIS a hundred years forward in time and you'd still probably be writing Legolas romances and argue about whether or not Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan were forced into the closet by a world-wide conspiracy of slash haters while the gang of Canon purists and Canon orgies battle it out with insults and assurance in own superiority.

Ah, such fond times.

...

I think we need theraphy.

****

Meanwhile, check out the pictures of the storm currently hitting Norway.

Ouch.

Pride and Prejudice is released in the US as longer version

My favorite CSI portmanteau remains "Snickers." Because that's exactly what it makes me do, and I *wrote* Nick/Sara.

I am thisclose to sticking my fingers in my ears and singing "La la la, DW fandom, I don't heeeeeaar you."

I write Catherine/Warrick now and then and I still grit my teeth at 'Yo!Bling'. I've even mocked pairing names in fanfic. It's just... So much potential for point&mock.

Aaaw. Come on, it's nothing to HP or LotR. It just needs to wank a little now and then to feel like a real fandom. I'll just be here in my corner, writing fanfic and rolling my eyes.

Slight wank over "Nine 4EVA!" versus "Ten will be good! We loves Ten already!" (and with quite a few on the fence).

I've seen far worse. Nothing like... FMA, is it? At least judging by f_w reports.

Gnick.

That would be quite the pairing. The mind boggles.

In Norwegian, "Gnikk" means "scrub", basically. Which is why "Gnick" amuses me.

I really don't get why people need to name their ships. Doesn't using name x/name y thing make it simpler, easier to follow and that much less ridiculous?

I've never really had the inclination to read Pride and Prejudice, nor have I wanted to see any of the films. I know, I know. Blasphemy.

Gofia? Good God, just shoot me.

I ship Grissom/Sara but I rarely refer to it as Geeklove.Online I'll say GSR, simply because I'm too lazy to type it out most of the time lol.

But 'Gofia', WTF is that?

I think I am kidding. I'm starting to lose track. I hope Sofia/Nick ends up as Sick. (I like the pairing in an odd way, but the nickname amuses me.)

Also, Brass/Nick exists? It's not that gross, but that's a new one for me.

HAAHHAAHHAHAHA. I see you've met Gofia. I saw it in some talkCSI thread a while ago. There seems to be three fucking annoying people who ship it only because they loathe Sara. They also refer to it as the new GSR, which is even fucking funnier because it's such attention-whoring.

Snickers is actually pretty cute sounding. And I'm partial to Geeklove too. But Sandle, Grillows, and even YoBling - have got to go.

Date: 2005-11-15 10:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] misscam.livejournal.com
So I'm not the only one to lurk at TalkCSI in horrid fascination? Good to know.

Yes. There's certain Tazzer, who has written the most ridiculous fanfics I've ever read in terms of Sara character fuck-up. The concept of how you feel about a character is not how the other characters feel about her/him has clearly failed to impress itself on her. But hey, it keeps me amused, in a horrid fascinated sort of way.

Snickers always makes me wonder if there'll be chocolate in the fic and I'm almost always disappointed. False advertising, I say.

Damn, and I missed it! DW fandom is a shiny bright thing, with more than its fair share of fanbrats to be sure, but them seem harmless enough. I just picture lots of glitter pens and "i"'s dotted with hearts and wonder how they could possibly work up a good enough head of steam to wank.
