The controversial anti-homosexual Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., has canceled its plans to stage a protest at the funerals of the five Amish girls executed in their Pennsylvania school, a church official said Wednesday.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, the daughter of church's pastor, told FOXNews.com the group canceled the protests in exchange for an hour of radio time Thursday on syndicated talk-show host Mike Gallagher's radio program.

Oh SWIMMINGLY. So, for this lot of chaaaaaaarming people not to behave like batshit pond-scum with the tact and grace of bee-stung ogres, they get to spew their hateful shit for an hour on some US national radio?

I demand an hour on that show for homosexuals, Swedes, Amish, soldiers and anyone else the "church" might have insulted so they can talk about what a small dick Fred Phelps has and what his obsession with semen might entail nudge nudge wink wink.

I am physically ill. As a believer and a Baptist no less (which makes me cringe to admit at the moment) I am just... almost beyond words. If any of the people in question have ever actually taken the time to read a Bible, much less try and process what one says, I'd be shocked. Because what they are doing is so far from Christian that it's sick. Sick and twisted and disgusting beyond anything that could ever be acceptable.

My god, it kills me to think of those innocent children and what they went through and these people think it's okay to blackmail the media and the Amish community so they can lay their children to rest in peace???? There are literally not words to explain my horror. None.

Yeah. Class, not high on the list. I remember during the tsumami stunt they had, they claimed one Swedish boy who had vanished and was suspected perhaps kidnapped during the disaster was better of being sexually abused as a sex slave than living in Sweden, since Sweden was evil, evil, evil.

Gah. Too true. I hate that anyone gave in to them, though. I would much rather have seen the governor call out the national guard to keep them away from the funerals. There's got to be some statute or law somewhere to support that. I hate that the media is giving them a voice anywhere for any reason.

There have been laws passed to prevent them for picketing the funerals of soldiers, but non-military funerals, I don't know about.

I can understand wanting to spare the families - I mean, would the Amish even know who the dink was, not having TV or any of that? Imagine finding him protesting your daughter's funeral unaware? OW - but yeah, now they're probably thinking this was a great tactic and they should do it again.

If he's going to act like a terrorist, we should treat him accordingly, I think. Just because he's an American doing it on his home soil doesn't excuse him. Or, conversely, we could jam his ass into some fatigues and send him to Iraq to try and convert the masses over there.

Given all the shit he said about Sweden, I do believe Scandinavia would like to borrow the Phelps a bit first. And we got laws against inciting hatred and he sure as hell is doing that.
